Left pieces of my heart in the Dominican Republic. Ran 2 successful medical programs for 45+ students who aspire to work in the healthcare field & saw them become real leaders who will change the world. Ran several medical brigades (alongside local doctors) in rural & immigrant communities in the DR who lack access to basic healthcare. Provided care to more than 300 patients. Dealt with multiple power outages at 3am on 5 am wake-up days. Drank countless piña coladas & swam in the most beautiful waters I’ve ever seen. Chapter 5 of my TT series: Baddie Solo Traveling LATAM for a Whole Year (DR edition 🇩🇴🫶🏼)

Went on a beautiful catamaran which included snorkeling at 3 different spots, a slide, a second floor, drinks, a trampoline jump into my fave beach, Sosúa Beach & honestly?? pure magic💚

then discovered Laguna Dudù & the 33 foot cliff jump into turquoise cenote is no joke!! A $6 entrance?! This is a must🦕🪐

4 months in DR & I collected so many moments like this, the activities, the beaches, the people, the way everyone welcomed me. This is what solo traveling LATAM as a woman for a whole year looks like. (DR has officially stolen my heart!! full guide & Chapter 6 coming soon so stay tuned!!)🤩💖🌸

Solo traveling looked like the scariest thing in the world at first but it’s been the biggest act of self love I’ve ever given myself🌸💖

I’ve been following that spark I felt the first time I found myself navigating a new country, a new culture, new traditions. A new found passion that would fulfill my heart in ways I never experienced before!! my inner child blossoming with pride that I get to experience so many magical first-times like snorkeling & playing mermaids in bioluminescent Caribbean beaches, taking dance lessons in each country’s traditional dance, leading medical service programs in The Dominican Republic for students who are the new world change makers!!👩🏻‍🏫✨

That’s not just travel, that’s self-love showing up in every form. That’s freedom looking like joy!! if you’re scared of solo traveling, good. That fear means ur about to love yourself in ways u didn’t know were ever possible!!🤩💖

Sosúa said treat yourself and honestly?? I listened🌸🐚🫧

spent the day on a catamaran tanning, snorkeling, dancing to Bad Bunny, water so clear I saw my entire life getting better & better in real time!! this is what freedom tastes like (salt, oysters, & bad bunny 🦪🇩🇴)

if you’re in Sosúa and u skip the catamaran ur doing it wrong!!

El Salvador really said be my fave chapter & honestly?? she won!!🫶🏼🇸🇻

In this chapter of my (TT) series Baddie Solo Traveling LATAM for a Whole Year, I spent another 3 weeks hopping between beaches, mountain cabins that rained at the perfect moment, best pools with ocean views, & food that had me emotional multiple times!!!😮‍💨

But real talk: solo traveling for a year and El Salvador reminded me why I do this. The people, the generosity, the VIBES, the way a simple pool jet can bring everyone together laughing.

Rode an ATV through ALL of Sosúa, Puerto Plata DR 🇩🇴 found a hidden river, had a late lunch there, watched the sunset and felt like Fiona at her swamp except I’m giving more the Spanish version of Donkey bc I did not stop yapping the whole time.
y’all the ATV was ~$30 for the whole day and the local river?!? 25 mins outside downtown Sosúa tucked away like it didn’t want to be found 🐚🫧

Baddie solo traveler finds the most ALIVE beach in Puerto Plata 🌊🇩🇴 Playa Alicia in Sosúa completely won me over!! stayed just outside El Tunco and honestly it was the best decision for remote work. Close enough to go to the beaches, the bars, the surf culture & far enough to come home to THIS!! a pool, a relaxing swing, ocean views, and somehow the most peaceful sleep I’ve had in months 🌊 if you’re planning El Salvador and want to experience el tunco (without the noise) find yourself a little hideaway right on the edge of it📍🇸🇻
