🏮 May last year, I was so lucky to be able to attend a sky lantern festival, a closing event of Waisak Day held at Borobudur Temple.

The view of lanterns floating in the sky was astonishingly beautiful, and being there, seeing them with my own eyes, was a magical experience.

Before lighting the flame, we wrote our hopes and dreams in a piece of a small paper, later to be sticked on the sides of the lantern. So that as the lantern rises in the air, so do our dreams.

Releasing the lights of them in the darkness of the night sky, without knowing where they'll end up, is like a symbolic act to never stop dreaming, work for that dream, but still have faith to surrender.

Universe is so vast, and we're just smaller than tiny dust compared to it. The best we can do here is to make sure that we keep flaming and floating the lanterns, and let cosmos does the rest.

Whether the lantern rises high until it can't be seen anymore, or it gets stucked on a tree, it doesn't matter. What matters is the smile we put on our face when releasing it up to the air.

Di setiap momen pergantian tahun, tanpa sadar 365 hari berlalu begitu saja dan seringkali diri ini merasa seperti belum melakukan apa-apa. Belum melakukan yang kata orang harus dilakukan demi keberhasilan di dunia.

Pikiran lebih tertuju kepada sesuatu yang 'belum'. Resolusi yang belum tercapai, materi yang belum dimiliki, dan keinginan yang belum kesampaian. Hingga seringkali lupa memusatkan energi syukur untuk mereka yang masih dalam pelukan dan genggaman saat ini.

Melihat foto dan video di galeri ponsel setahun dan beberapa tahun ke belakang, wow ternyata cukup banyak cerita yang Beliau sudah percayakan untuk saya lalui. Kadang sesuatu yang di luar ekspektasi, kadang sesuatu yang tampak sederhana tapi sesungguhnya bermakna. Pengalaman, kesempatan, pertemuan, dan terlebih waktu-waktu yang dapat saya habiskan bersama orang-orang yang saya kasihi.

Tuhan, terima kasih untuk semua yang terjadi dan belum terjadi (atau yang Kau tidak izinkan untuk terjadi). Baik dan buruk, hanya diri-Mu yang mampu menilai.

Semoga di tahun ini, ada lebih banyak keberlimpahan dan kebahagiaan untuk kita semua. Aamiin!

As someone living in a human body in this era,

I do what my other fellow humans do too: go to school, get to work, make money, hoping to have a good life.

I play my role as a lover, a wife, a daughter, a friend, an employee, and if allowed, who knows many roles in the future that might have come.

I embrace one of religions to technically express my gratitude and belief toward something greater than beyond.

I follow certain customs, traditions, and norms to fit in a society, therefore so we humans can all harmoniously build together a better future.

And of course, just like any creation that is organic, I am limited with flesh and bones, and certainly can't live another hour without breathing.

But we are much more than a body.
