Snippets of my performance to David by Lorde

I wanted the garment to feel like a blank paper or canvas to cover in a poem I wrote about toxic fallout- what remains after the collapse and what refuses to disappear

Fear is not real

Be afraid of nothing.
Fear tells you that staying small is the only way to stay safe.
It builds a quiet wall between the person you are and the person you’re capable of becoming.
It is the hesitation that keeps your hands at your sides when they should be reaching.
It simply waits,
waiting for you to choose the safety of standing still over the vulnerability of moving.
The only thing truly worth fearing is living a life so guarded that you forget how it feels to be moved by the wind. by @planetveyl

I GREENED OUT at the puff puff pageant

jk but I DID get into this GREEN PRESENTATION.
I knew I wanted to incorporate a large dramatic veil for this look and landed on a celestial fantasy with a 15 foot train inspired by THE @r.b.wun @robertwun

A study of hats.
The tricorn hat emerged in the mid/late 17th century easily recognizable by its brim pinned up at three points. Worn by soldiers, sailors and pirates, the higher the status the more refined the materials became often utilizing silk trims, gold braid, and feathers. In the 18th and 19th century tricorn hats faded away and fashion shifted towards bicorne, and eventually top hats.
Fast forward to today the tricorn is deeply associated with pirate mythology, theater/film and avant garde fashion reinterpretations

l’ve been wanting to make something animal print recently and found my childhood bedding while going through keepsakes in my parents basement. Spotting this zebra print in a pile of other blankets felt like such a win!
Pulling inspiration from the sculptural shapes/silhouettes of @muglerofficial and @schiaparelli I repurposed the bedding into this full look.

Kinda feel so fierce as this @robertwun @matieresfecales inspired little cave dwelling creature. picked up SO much of this deadstock fabric and made the skirt, top, gloves, hat and headpiece.
