Carnivorous plants look otherworldly, but their strategy is surprisingly practical 🌿🪰

Plants like Venus flytraps, Sarracenia and sundews evolved in nutrient-poor soils, so instead of relying only on their roots, they supplement their diet by catching insects. The insects provide extra nutrients, especially nitrogen, while the plant still gets its energy from sunlight just like any other plant.

A few care basics:

• Give them lots of bright light
• Keep the substrate consistently moist
• Use rainwater, distilled water or very low-mineral water
• Skip regular houseplant fertiliser
• Don’t trigger the traps just for fun, it costs the plant energy

Strange, clever and genuinely fascinating little plants 💚 by @plantcircle

Shelfie Sunday 🌿💗

A little reminder that shelves aren’t just for books. Mix trailing foliage with sculptural plants, playful pots and a few treasured objects to create a display that feels collected, layered and completely your own.

We especially love how all these shades of green pop against the soft pink. Would you recreate this look at home? by @plantcircle

Begonias: proof that nature is the greatest designer. 🎨🌿

Spotted, striped, silver, pink, velvety and wonderfully asymmetrical—every Begonia leaf feels like its own little work of art. With so many colors, shapes and textures to collect, choosing a favorite is nearly impossible.

Keep these beauties thriving with bright, indirect light, gentle humidity and lightly moist soil—avoiding wet leaves and waterlogged roots.

The secret to a rich, layered interior jungle? Mix your foliage. 🌿

Pair deep greens with fresh lime tones, velvety leaves with glossy ones, and bold spots with delicate stripes. Playing with different colors, textures, shapes and patterns creates depth—and makes every plant stand out while still feeling part of the whole.

Think of it as styling with leaves: the more variety, the more character. ✨

This striking beauty is known for its deeply textured, almost-black foliage, rich burgundy tones and elegant upright growth. As the light moves across its leaves, their velvety surface reveals a subtle silvery sheen—pure plant magic. ✨

Keep it happy with bright, indirect light, warm temperatures, higher humidity and lightly moist, well-draining soil.

🌿 Plant Spotlight: Ficus Moonshine ‘Shivereana’

A modern classic—and forever one of our favorites. This rare rubber plant turns every leaf into a miniature work of art, with dreamy marbling in creamy white, mint green, soft yellow and touches of pink on new growth. No two leaves are ever quite the same!

Give your Ficus Moonshine plenty of bright, indirect light to keep its variegation vibrant. Allow the top layer of soil to dry between waterings, protect it from cold drafts and occasionally wipe those beautiful leaves to keep them glossy and healthy.

With the right care, it will grow into a striking statement plant that only becomes more impressive over time. ✨ by @plantcircle

✂️ Pinching the growing tips encourages a fuller, bushier plant
🌸 They produce delicate flower spikes—but their dazzling leaves are the real stars🏡 In cooler climates, they can be overwintered indoors as houseplants

Create your own green wall, no fancy system required 🌿

Start with a simple wall shelf, mix a few trailing plants with different leaf shapes and textures, and let nature do the styling. Pair silver-toned Scindapsus, vibrant Neon Pothos, and a trailing Monstera adansonii for a lush, layered look that grows more beautiful over time.

The secret? Combine plants that grow at different speeds and lengths, then give them space to cascade naturally. Before long, you’ll have a living piece of art that softens the room, improves the atmosphere, and makes every corner feel a little more alive.

A green wall doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes it’s just a few plants, a shelf, and a little patience. 💚 by @plantcircle

🌿 Happy Plant-iversary, Bitpanda! 🎉

One year ago, we had the privilege of bringing more greenery into Bitpanda’s Berlin office. Today, those plants are bigger, fuller, and still thriving alongside the team that works among them every day.

To celebrate the occasion, we surprised the team with a custom vegan and gluten-free cake from the incredibly talented queer-owned bakery @fairycorecakes. 🧁✨ It's becoming quite a tradition for us 💚

For us, great office planting isn’t just about installation day. It’s about creating living spaces that continue to grow, evolve, and make an impact long after the project is complete.

Thank you, Bitpanda, for trusting us with your space and for a wonderful first year together. Here’s to many more years of growth. 🌱 by @plantcircle

Say hi to Amydrium medium ‘Silver’ 🌿

An underrated aroid with metallic silver-blue foliage, dramatic splits, and a climbing habit that gets more beautiful with every new leaf. Often confused with young monsteras, this species has a slightly wilder, more delicate jungle look that we’re obsessed with.

As it matures and climbs, the leaves develop deeper fenestrations and elongated shapes, giving it that lush Southeast Asian rainforest energy.

Why we love it:
• shimmering silver-toned foliage
• unique narrow leaf shape and texture
• develops gorgeous splits with maturity
• fast-growing climber with support
• rarer look without being overly difficult

Care tips:
• bright indirect light keeps the silver coloring strong
• water when the top layer of soil feels lightly dry
• loves humidity and airflow
• happiest climbing a moss pole or plank
• avoid harsh direct afternoon sun

One of those plants that quietly turns into a total show-off over time ✨ by @plantcircle

Meet the fishbone cactus 🌿
Also known as Epiphyllum anguliger, aka one of the weirdest and coolest plants you can own.

With zig-zagging jungle cactus foliage that looks almost too graphic to be real, this plant brings instant movement and personality to a space without demanding constant attention.

Why we love it:
• sculptural, architectural growth
• surprisingly easy care
• pet friendly ✨
• loves bright indirect light
• perfect trailing plant for shelves and pedestals
• occasionally rewards you with huge fragrant night-blooming flowers

Equal parts alien, jungle, and art piece 💚 by @plantcircle
