Been a while since I showed off my biggest pink Princess philodendron, and she’s only gotten bigger! I think you can see on my face at the end what a proud plant dad I am. Happy philodendron Friday 😘💖

Today is no-thank-you Thursday and I’m talking about my bunny ears cactus! Have you ever felt the urge to bring one of these cuties home? DON’T!! 🚫🙅💀

I’ve been running this account for about 1.5 months and in honour of reaching 200 followers (actually closer to 250 now😱) I thought I’d do an official self-introduction 😊

Hi! My name is James (but I also go by my middle name, Dylan), and I am a queer almost-40-year-old personal trainer/kinesiologist living in BC, Canada.

I have been taking care of houseplants for over 3 years now and one reason I started this account is that I want to pivot to a plant-focused career. My goal is to make connections, show off my plant skills, and put myself out there in ways that I never have before.

My favourite plant is the philodendron pink Princess, and the bulk of my collection is made up of philodendrons, monsteras and a few other aroids. I also have a decent collection of succulents. Not many of my plants are rare or unusual but I still love and am proud of them all 💖

In addition to plants I also enjoy fitness, various arts and crafts, stick and poke tattoos, video games, and playing dungeons & dragons. I am also an intermediate level Japanese language student/日本語の中学生です。

I’ve been having a lot of fun running this account and it has been a truly joyful experience connecting with the plant community here! If there’s anything else you want to know feel free to ask. Happy growing! 😘💖💪🪴

It’s tiny-plant Tuesday and I just learned some cool factzzz about my new vanilla orchid! Has anyone else tried growing one of these?

Happy Sunday! Today me and my snake plant are getting into what it means to be a “low light” plant. Send this to your friend who insists on keeping their plants in a dark corner instead of next to a window 😘🫰

Just got back from visiting mom on the island and here are some planty highlights. It’s philodendron Friday so starting with the newest addition to my philodendron pink Princess family (yes another one don’t @ me). I think this is my highest-variegation one yet! Could we call it a marble galaxy? I’m going with yes! 🌌

Separated my marble galaxy from this mother plant which is GOEGEOUS. We bought this one for my mom who needs new plants after her collection was decimated by thrips 💀 @gardenworkscanada in Nanaimo has some very nice PPP if anyone is in the area💖

Mom’s pothos. A couple years ago I helped her put it on a trellis and it has been THRIVING. I also picked the plant stand at a thrift store and wish I kept it for myself 🤣

Gave mom this monstera when it was just a lil baby and look at her now! Survivor of the thrip purge 💚

We also got her this Hoya, and if course I took a small cutting for myself 🙃

Didn’t buy but saw this philodendron white princess with some pink variegation 💖

I can’t remember what this was. Maybe some kind of lily? Anyways it was huge 😅

Saw some cool and unusual orchids. I bought myself a small one but I’m saving it for tiny plant Tuesday 🤣

This one smelled really good 😋

I found out that this is some kind of monstera but now I forget the name! I want to say it started with a “b”? 🤷

🔔 🔔💖

I was really taken with this begonia. Look at those pink flower buds! 🫰

Seriously someone rich buy me this. by @plantfactzzz

Y’all I am STRUGGLING. I tried using CapCut for the first time to edit this and NOTHING about it is going well. Posting this video has taken years off my life 💀

Anyways here’s a video on how to care for your string of pearls. Sorry for the wonky edit.

Just clearing up a lil misconception about overwatering. I’m sure most of you already know this but I’m speaking to the kids at the back of the class who may have missed the memo 😉✌️
