an updated edition of my Edo-Tokyo Open Air Museum zine is now finished! I wanted to extend this zine with a couple more drawings of the special things i saw, i’ve also bound this one with a simple three hole sewn bind ◡̈

in the past month i’ve also spent some time working on a site so you can collect these pieces and many of the others i’ve made for post club! by @plantgril

this month i made this A6 print of my sewing machine and the blouse i sewed recently ๋࣭⭑

my sewing machine is the janome 709 and its only the second machine i’ve ever owned. the first was a brother my mum got me for my 15th birthday, that i learned to sew on and then learned again on 2020. when i moved i took the opportunity to make a little upgrade ๋࣭⭑ to make is such a special thing and i feel so lucky to do it. by @plantgril

this months postcard print 🤍 i love to walk about and appreciate my surroundings, i am very inspired and lucky to see so much 🌇 i take lots of pictures as i go and when i look back ill use a bit of the snap for a drawing, see the last slide for my reference photo this time.

this months postcard print :-)))) i love book shopping and i believe it’s good for us all! i took the reference picture when i was browsing and saw a nice textile piece i wanted to remember, looking back i thought oh what a lovely scene that is and so it should be celebrated with an illustration.

the back features a possum we saw in the park on sheldon’s birthday evening, we are a little scared of them but also enjoy the opportunity of getting to have a look at one up close! by @plantgril

hello 🙂‍↕️ i made a new blouse! i used the paint top pattern by @makebytfs and i made a couple changes, i chose the smallest size of the pattern because i know its very oversized, i added the centre front button band and used some very lovely light tortoiseshell buttons i got in sydney, i also took 6cm off the length and did a little rolled hem rather than the faced hem. its all finished up with french seams my favourite! the fabric is a lovely light cotton poplin in lavender from @wearethefabricstore

i usually say that jackets are my favourite thing to sew but maybe blouses are too. the shape of this sleeve and the cuff are so lovely. by @plantgril

i am too excited to wait for august! this new edition of plantgril post is already on its way to those who were members of the club today :-)

i made a cute new postcard design inspired by book shopping, and the possum we saw on sheldon’s birthday eve. a little sticker in case u meet a lovely dog and u need to reciprocate the joy u got from petting them. i’ve also been reading lots this month and wanted a little sticker chart so I made this A6 house print, i wanted it to be nice enough you could display it without filling it in, but i also tucked some little dot stickers for those who want to see their progress!

i made two new bags, designed to be paired together 👯 the inner bag is a natural cotton canvas mini tote with cotton webbing and finished with flat felled seams.

the outer soft bag is perfectly a little bigger to slip over the canvas tote and is a cotton yarn dyed stripe with matching self straps, a draw string top, 6 internal pockets and finished with bias binding and french seams.

cute as separates and so perfect together!
