Even in COR1, life still finds a way to bloom. 🌺

This little beauty didn’t wait for perfect conditions… she showed up anyway—rain, wind, and all. A quiet reminder that strength doesn’t always look loud. Sometimes it looks like holding on, staying rooted, and choosing to bloom when you can.

To everyone riding out Super Typhoon Sinlaku—stay safe, stay dry, and take it one moment at a time. The storm will pass… and just like this orchid, we’ll come through it stronger and still standing.

It’s been over a year since I last posted this Hoya…

In that time it has done exactly what Hoyas do best: grow vines, make leaves, and completely ignore my hopes for flowers.

So of course the moment I stopped expecting anything…
boom. These peachy little star clusters appear like nothing ever happened.

Hoyas really train you in patience.

They’ll make you wait a year (or two)…
then bloom like they’ve been planning a grand entrance the whole time.

Worth every minute.

🌱 This New Year, remember: Grow where you are planted, but if you’re not thriving, don’t be afraid to pick up your roots and move to a sunnier spot in the garden. Nurture yourself, bloom brightly, and make this year your most flourishing yet.” 🌸

Grew this Dole®️pineapple from a sliced off top pre-Covid, left it alone in a glass jar at the side of the house, barely watered it on purpose 😬 but it received full on sun all day. It was sweet and juicy just like the OG. I bet if it had been planted in the ground it might’ve been bigger.

Oh well, round two here we go!

Happiest of New Years!

It’s been a while since my last post, but like many of you, other parts of life got in the way. I’ve downsized the number of plants so I wouldn’t need to bring inside over 100 of them at the next SuperTyphoon! I’ve also been giving away propagated plants just to keep down the maintenance.

HOWEVER. I made a pledge to upkeep what I do have because I still find my sanity in the soil 😌

On the flip side, husband @josephfcepeda had been upgrading his grilling game once we got the porch floor retiled > thanks, Mawar, for popping them up. With the new grills came the “need” to have an outside sink AND a “fill & chill” table for whatever! Think sashimi, mayo dressed dishes, beer, soda, raw meats and seafood for Mongolian 😋 ok, ok - not today, because these tables double as my potting stations!

The sink is connected to a faucet with a short 6’ hose but I still have to figure out where the drainage hose should be going.

The Fill & Chill table also has a drainage hole and hose - perfect for filling up to bottom feed a plethora of plants!

I’m a happy camper 🥰

BTW - found the tables locally @erchardwareexpress
