Shipping these two beauties, Monstera Devil and Ocean Mint, to their new home in California! 🌿📦💚

But did you know shipping live plants to California involves more than just careful packing? 📦🌿📜

California has strict agricultural regulations, and plant shipments can be intercepted, held, rejected, or even destroyed if they don't meet the state's requirements. 🥺

Why? To protect California's agriculture and environment from invasive pests and plant diseases.

At Plants by Sheryl Anne, we take extra precautions to help ensure our plants arrive safely and meet applicable shipping requirements.

Here are the three official documents we're showing in this shipment:

🌿 Certified Nursery License – Confirms we're a certified nursery inspected by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture.

🌿 Plant Pest Certification (Regulatory Officials Letter) – Documents compliance with specified plant pest regulations, including Japanese beetle requirements.

🌿 Plant Pest Compliance Agreement – Our agreement with NCDA&CS covering California's spotted lanternfly quarantine requirements and the procedures we must follow when shipping.

Of course, documentation alone doesn't guarantee clearance, and additional inspections or certificates may be required depending on the plants and their origin.

A little reminder to fellow plant sellers: Shipping rare plants isn't just about beautiful packaging. Understanding agricultural regulations is part of responsible plant selling.

Have you ever had a plant shipment intercepted in California? Share your experience below! 👇

She's gorgeous, she's rare, and she's a little bit of a diva. 😂🌿

Meet Homalomena Rubescens Mint!

Those oversized, heart-shaped leaves with their dreamy minty green tones are absolutely stunning. But let's be clear, this beauty comes with a little attitude. 💚

🌿 Care tips to keep this diva happy:

☀️ Light: Bright, indirect light. No harsh direct sun.

💦 Humidity: Loves high humidity, ideally 60–80%.

🌡️ Temperature: Keep her warm, ideally 70–80°F, and away from cold drafts.

🪴 Substrate: An airy, moisture-retentive mix with coco coir, perlite, and sphagnum moss works well. A semi-hydro setup with an appropriate mineral substrate is another option for maintaining consistent moisture.

💧 Watering: Keep the substrate lightly moist, never soggy. If growing in semi-hydro, maintain a suitable reservoir level without submerging the crown.

✨ Extra tip: She doesn't appreciate sudden changes! Give her time to acclimate to her new environment and avoid unnecessary repotting.

She's not exactly beginner-friendly, but once you figure out what makes her happy, she's an absolute showstopper. 🥹💚

A little patience, a little consistency, and a whole lot of beauty.

Would you take on this beautiful diva? 👀

Apparently she has places to be. 😂🌿

My favorite Scindapsus Aurea NoID mother plant has reached the top of her pole… AGAIN.

So here I am adding another extension because cutting her back? Absolutely not. 😂 She wants to climb, I’m enabling the behavior, and at this rate we may eventually have to discuss the ceiling.

Anything for the favorite child. 💚

12 Billietiae at home and he STILL said, “I need that one.” 🤣🌿

Another HUGE Variegated Billietiae is heading to one of our loyal collectors — because apparently, there’s no such thing as too many Billies. 😂

At this point, he’s not collecting them… he’s building a Billietiae army. 💚

Not ready for one this huge? We have smaller Variegated Billietiae available. 🌿

DM us for more info. 💚
