Imagine having one of the biggest albums on the planet, being nominated five times… and leaving the Grammys with nothing.

That was Michael Jackson in 1988.

But instead of letting the night be remembered for the awards he didn’t win, MJ delivered a performance of “The Way You Make Me Feel” and “Man in the Mirror” that became one of the defining Grammy performances of his career.

By the end, the trophies almost felt irrelevant.

Sometimes the performance becomes bigger than the award. 🐐

Was this Michael Jackson at his absolute peak? 👇

A street performer in the subway takes on “A Change Is Gonna Come,” originally by Sam Cooke, and turns the moment into something unforgettable.

Stripped of everything but raw emotion, the performance feels honest and real — the kind that stops people mid-step and makes them listen.

It’s a reminder that music doesn’t need lights or production to move you… just a voice, a song, and something real behind it.

When Mario released “Let Me Love You,” it instantly became one of the defining songs of early 2000s R&B.

There’s nothing forced about it. The production is minimal, the melody is smooth, and the emotion feels controlled — almost restrained. Instead of chasing big moments, the song leans into patience, vulnerability, and quiet confidence.

Mario’s delivery doesn’t try to overwhelm you. It feels steady, sincere — like reassurance rather than intensity. That’s what makes it hit differently.

The repetitive chorus gives it a hypnotic feel, the kind of song that stays with you long after it ends.

It didn’t just succeed in its time — it aged into something timeless.

This one hits harder when you realize we basically watched Miley grow up in real time.

From Disney Channel to everything that came after, an entire generation watched every version of her.

Then she gave us “Used To Be Young.”

Growing up is realizing you don’t have to hate who you used to be. ❤️‍🩹

This collaboration still doesn’t look real. 😭

Rihanna. Kanye West. Paul McCartney.

Three completely different generations of music came together for “FourFiveSeconds” — and somehow it worked perfectly.

No crazy production. No huge spectacle. Just three icons and a song that still holds up.

2015 was something else.

This wasn’t just another performance.

Michael Jackson stepped onstage for “Billie Jean” at Motown 25 in 1983 — and introduced millions of people to the moonwalk.

The glove. The fedora. The moves. An iconic moment happening in real time.

There will never be another MJ. 🐐

Timbaland really had the 2000s in a chokehold. 😭🔥

The second “Apologize” starts, you’re right back in that era.

OneRepublic. Timbaland. A melody everybody knew.

They seriously don’t make radio hits like this anymore.

This is how you bring a song full circle. 🔥

Eminem built “Sing for the Moment” around Aerosmith’s “Dream On.”

Then years later, Steven Tyler himself joined him to sing the part that started it all.

Two generations. One legendary moment.

Michael Jackson took one of The Beatles’ most recognizable songs and completely made it his own.

His version of “Come Together” had the voice, the attitude, the movement — everything that made MJ impossible to copy.

Some artists perform a cover.

Michael Jackson turned it into a Michael Jackson song. 🐐

This song had an entire generation planning out money they didn’t have 😂💰

Before Bruno Mars became one of the biggest artists in the world, he was singing the hook on Travie McCoy’s “Billionaire.”

16 years later and there’s only one question…

A $30 beat turned into a song that was basically impossible to escape. 😭

“Old Town Road” went from an internet phenomenon to spending a then-record 19 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Then everybody started getting involved and 2019 just kept getting crazier. 😂

Where were you when this song was EVERYWHERE? 👇

You’ve probably screamed this song word for word without ever knowing who was actually behind the voice.

John Martin is the voice on Swedish House Mafia’s “Don’t You Worry Child” — one of those songs almost an entire generation recognizes within seconds.

But be honest… did you actually know this was him? 👀
