I used to believe the spotlight was only meant for those with titles.

ex-national, state players… the “real” athletes.

but then @playatbase @ianngkb gave me — a nobody 😶‍🌫️ in the world of sports this chance.

And something shifted.

It made me feel seen.
It made me believe that maybe… this path is for people like me too.
The ones who started late. Who show up anyway.
Who play with heart, not history.

✨🪄🪐
This isn’t just my moment.
It’s a quiet reminder to every amateur out there:
You’re not too small. You’re not too late. You belong.

Thank you, Base. For being there more than just a court, but a movement and a hope 🫶🏻

Tonight, Base launches our first-ever ambassador. A 3.4 DUPR player. And here’s why.

The top players already have the medals, the sponsors, and the spotlight.

But we wanted to #DinkDifferent.

Instead of chasing the best, we chose to back the rest of us - the everyday player chasing greatness. Our goal? To take a 3.4 to a 4.0 DUPR. And bring you along for every win, wobble, and wow.

Base will be providing everything a professional athlete would get - the coaching and personal training to recovery, tournaments, and a few surprises ,we’re covering it all.

This is where the journey begins.
With her. With us. With you. taken in Base Pickle and Padel by @playatbase

Same dink, different finish. 6.0 vs 4.4 DUPR 👇

Luc @lucpham__ finishes low and short. I follow through all the way up to my shoulder.

Why it matters:
1. Efficiency: a big swing adds no power to a soft shot. It’s just extra movement.
2. Readiness: if your paddle ends up high, it has to come back down before you can block the speed-up. Luc’s paddle is already in front of him.

The fix: stop the paddle around chest height and keep it out in front. Let the ball do the work.

Court: @playatbase
Paddle: @fridaypickleball.asia Aura Pro 🥰
Academy: @picklenova.academy

Where does your paddle finish after a dink? Tell me below 👇

Petaling Jaya makes a strong case for a pickleball court crawl. From Seksyen 19 to Seksyen 51, these five venues each bring their own pace and personality to the game.

Where would you book your next session?
