Recidivism isn't a character flaw.

It's a systems failure and it's expensive. Over $1B a year in taxpayer cost and immeasurably more in human potential.

Here's the part that should make you hopeful:
💡 Vocational certification cuts recidivism by up to 43%.

That's the entire PlayFect model: real credentials, real mentorship, and a real job at the end.

SEE HOW THE cycle breaks. 👉

This is what “From System to Self-Made” looks like 🎬

At PlayFect, we believe fitness is more than training it’s a pathway.

A way to rebuild discipline, earn a real credential, and open doors that were closed.

We’re a San Diego nonprofit giving justice-impacted youth and adults the tools to build a future: ISSA certification, mentorship, and real job placement support.

This is just the beginning. Follow along as we build something that changes lives one certification at a time.

Community + Together

That’s the ripple effect PlayFect creates.

Your field expertise + their hunger to change = real careers, real futures, real community.

If you work in health & wellness, a nonprofit, social services, or community development, you already see the gap between credentials and opportunity.

The question isn’t whether it works, it’s whether you’re ready to be the person who helps us make it happen for someone else 🗺️

DMs are always welcome 🤗 or hit that 🔗 above ⬆️ taken in San Diego, California by @playfectusa

Here's what we know from the field: a credential without a network, without financial literacy, without someone advocating for you, that's not a pathway; that's a certificate gathering dust.

We've heard it from the community we serve and we've built PlayFect to solve it, not with one intervention, but with all four pillars working together.

This is how we break the cycle.
One certification at a time, but never alone.

We believe that true TRUST is built through shared experiences and support.

@daria.mae.brown beautifully articulates this by stating, ‘Hey, I’m doing it too. We’re gonna do it together.’

Let us know your thoughts or experiences with #reentry in the comments!

Sometimes that means taking our meeting outside ☀️

Sharing skills…

🌱 Perfecting the program and using our community resources ☀️

Drop some suggestions for a San Diego park we should consider for our upcoming outdoor sessions 🤔⁉️
