We believe that every child should have the opportunity to stay active, build confidence, and make lasting memories — no matter their family’s financial situation. That’s why the Play Fund exists.

A recent Play Fund scholarship recipient shared how meaningful this support has been:

"The Play Fund has supported me and my children for many years, and I am truly grateful. I have lived in Frisco, TX for 10 years, and from the moment I learned about this facility in my own backyard, I knew I wanted to be part of it. Over the years, I’ve been blessed to receive summer program funding, which has allowed my children and me to enjoy classes, lessons, and countless activities.

I am a mother of three — ages 18, 14, and 10 — and they are all very active. They love going to the gym to exercise and enjoy both the indoor and outdoor water activities. The facility has not only benefited my children, but it has also been a tremendous blessing to me personally. I’m able to focus on my health, exercise, and swim laps uninterrupted, always with a lifeguard on duty, which gives me peace of mind.

Without the Frisco Play Fund, we would not have access to these opportunities. My children would not have a safe, structured place to play, exercise, and swim, and I would not have the ability to prioritize my own health in such a supportive environment.
I’ve shared my experience with many other parents and friends, and several of them have now signed up for memberships for their own families.

Thank you, Play Frisco, for everything you’ve made possible for us!"

This is a great resource to share with your friends and family, you never know whose life could change for the better! by @playfrisco

On October 17, from 4–7 PM, we’ll be gathering at the new 4th Street Plaza in Downtown Frisco for an Art Moment Experience. 🍃✨🌺

We’ll be shaping clay into wind chimes, adorned with plants and flowers gathered for a touch of nature. ❀

Swipe through for a peek at the process + step-by-step instructions, and see if this creative moment feels like something for you. →

When you arrive, our volunteers will be handing out pieces of clay for you to work with.

Step 1 ~
Knead your clay by softening it with your hands.

Step 2 ~
Spray your clay 5-6 times with water, and continue kneading.

Step 3 ~
Shape your clay into a ball and flatten it with a rolling pin.

Important!
See an air bubble? Knead and roll it again. Air bubbles cause the clay to explode in the kiln when being fired.

Step 4 ~
Press your plant or flower into the clay.

Step 5 ~
Roll your plant or flower into the clay using a rolling pin.

Step 6 ~
Gently peel your plant or flower away from the clay.
Want a more distinct pattern? Press, roll, and peel again!

Step 7 ~
Use a wooden dowel to create holes for the wind chime string.

Step 8 ~
Shape your piece. You can leave it flat or mold it into three dimensional shapes.

Step 9 ~
Spray the cloth with water and clean your hands.

Step 10 ~
Once finished, bring your piece to the clay collection area on the north side of the plaza.

We’d love for you to join us for an afternoon of clay, flowers, and a little creative wandering.

Save the date + come make a little something with us. ❀

For this local on the 8's, let's talk about dirt. 🌧️🛑

The dirt trails at Northwest Community Park are closed due to rain. While we know you’re devastated you can't test out your new muddy-tire look, your laundry machine and our trail maintenance crew thank you for staying off those trails this week.

In the meantime, you can ride the all-weather bike-optimized Ranger and Warrior trails at the park.

After the rain, Play Frisco staff will evaluate the trails and perform any needed work on them to ensure they are in prime condition for play!

Will the dirt trails at Northwest be closed every time it rains?

It's very possible, because rain makes dirt trails soft, saturated, and vulnerable to deep ruts and long-term erosion. Closing dirt trails is part of good trail maintenance and management, and it's a big part of what keeps trails nice and fun to use.

Where can I see the latest status for the Northwest dirt trails?

The park's webpage has a real-time status app that you can check when in doubt. Head over to friscotexas.gov/NWCPark for the latest updates.

Thank you for helping us protect and preserve the dirt trails by staying off them until they dry out! by @playfrisco

This week THN Little Elm took an awesome outdoor workshop with nature experts, Grayson and Crystal from @playfrisco. We learned about animal adaptations 🦅 and plant biodiversity. 🌱

The kids crafted and drew birds and then played a fun game to simulate bird with different beak adaptations. Families also went on a nature walk to explore the plant biodiversity that makes up our Blackland Prairie region. 🌾

We want to extend a huge thank you to Play! Frisco for devoting their time and energy to teaching our students. 🙌
