Happy National Hispanic Heritage Month!

It’s been a year since I formally introduced myself and since then, some new faces have joined the mix. So let’s get to know each other 👋🏼

I’m Jeanette, a second-generation Cuban-American 🇨🇺 mom of three littles (an 8-year-old 👦🏻 and twin 4-year-olds 👦🏻👧🏻).

Here are 10 facts about me:
1- I’m a proud millennial, born in the 80s and raised in the 90s 🙌🏼
2- I’ve been a pesco-vegetarian for more than 20 years.
3- I majored in journalism and worked in the field up until last year.
4- I’m a strong advocate for food allergies (all three of my littles have some)
5- I can survive off coffee, popcorn and French fries ☕️🍿🍟
6- I’m a big kid at heart. I’ve always loved toys and being a mom has allowed me to tap into my youth again ☺️
7- I love thrifting, especially for toys, games and books! I find the hunt thrilling and you never know what you may find.
8- I enjoy restoring/completing toys and giving them new life. I haven’t done it in some time but I hope to get back to it some day.
9- In another life, I would be a dancer. I love dancing and watching choreography but was always too shy to do it when I was younger 💃🏻
10- My go-to stress reliever is building with LEGO. by @playonlittles

HOW-TO: Rock Foods

As promised, here is the tutorial on how I made all the rock foods for my littles’ mud kitchen 🍌🫐

I picked up three rocks during our Spring Break travels specifically to show you all each and every step ☺️

🦕 3D Dino 🦕

My 8-year-old wanted to get in on the crafting fun so he made this 3D wooden dinosaur from our @my_creative_box Dinosaur Craft Activity Box ☺️

We are doing a lot of writing practice at home as my twins prepare to start kindergarten in a few weeks.

This MarbleTracers Lowercase Letters set by @hand2mindinc has really helped them better understand the proper way to write letters.

It’s such a great tactile and visual aid for them and it has truly made a difference in their letter formation 🙌🏼

🦖 Fossil Dig 🪏

This sensory bin was a breeze to set up!

All I did was lay down dinosaur fossil pieces that I 3D-printed and topped it off with @kineticsand 🦕

Then I gave my littles some scoops to dig them up!

I love toys that grow with my littles and can be used for endless hours of open-ended play. And these Fisher-Price Stepping Stones fit the bill!

They can be used in the traditional way to work on balancing skills as well as a number of other ways 🙌🏼

They’re built solidly with a hard, plastic shell and non-slip rubber grip, making them perfect for both indoor and outdoor play. They’re also lightweight so littles can move them on their own and stack them when they’re done playing ☺️

My twin littles had so much fun making these dinosaur puppets from our @my_creative_box Dinosaur Craft Activity Box!

🌋 CONNETIX Volcano 🌋

It wouldn’t be dino week without a volcanic eruption!

This build was so fun to put together with our @connetix_tiles 🦕

We worked on identifying different types of dinosaurs and discussing how volcanic eruptions could have led to their extinction 🦖

🧊 Frozen Dino Egg Rescue 🦕

We are kicking off dino week with an activity that’s perfect for a hot summer day!

The set up is pretty easy - the hardest part is fitting the dinosaurs inside the balloons. Once you’ve got them in, fill the balloons with water, tie them and put them in the freezer.

Once the eggs are frozen, cut the balloons off to expose them and give your littles the tools they’ll need to rescue the dinos - salt, hot water and some droppers!

🐛 Bug Stamps 🪲

For this activity, we used the art board and play dough from our @my_creative_box Bitty Bugs kit and paired it with bug stamps I 3D-printed.

I had my littles roll out the play dough, using brown for the dirt and green for the grass layer on top. They then took turns stamping the dough and identifying each bug 🤩
