A NEW COLLABORATION BEGINS! ✍️ We’ve partnered with the Ojai Playwrights Conference in commissioning FOUR rigorous translations of Shakespeare’s plays into contemporary modern-verse English that reflect our diverse, dynamic and ever-changing world...

We are thrilled to announce:

Julia Izumi (she/her) will translate The Winter’s Tale
JuCoby Johnson (he/him) will translate Romeo & Juliet
MJ Kaufman (he/they) will translate Henry IV, Part 1

Last week, the team gathered in Santa Barbara, California for a rustic retreat by the ocean. Between hanging out with llamas and baby goats, dips in the Pacific, and watercolor lessons, we put pen to paper, laying out some big plans for 2027 and honing in on the values that make our team work. 💪

The Shakespeare Company of India in collaboration with Play On Shakespeare is excited to announce company’s educational production of Julius Caesar !

Modern-verse translation by Shishir Kurup
Produced by The Shakespeare Company of India in collaboration with @playonshakes !

The rehearsals for the production will begin mid July and will have its first show in mid

*** This is an educational production which will perform in schools and will not have public shows.

In order to audition, do write to us on scoi.juliuscaesar@gmail.com with a resume and a picture of yourself.
Prior experiance with Shakespeare is not required.
This is a gender-blind casting.

Deadline for the submission : 13th June 6pm
In person auditions will take place on 18th, 19th and 20th of June in Aram Nagar in form of text work on the floor and reading.
Sending a self test is also an option if you can’t make it on the dates.
