Thanks to @falloffreedom I held my second Salon D’Amour in my petite backyard space in New Orleans. This year’s theme: BRAND NEW DAY: post Trump utopias was a balm and a lightening strike and a belly laugh and a prayer and all dat. Thank you @thestevelands for helping me curate, and to all those who shared including @kathyrandels, Jeffrey Darensbourg, @halfcreole, @seanpies, Moose Jackson, @waltwinner and @tom_mcdermott_music. Grateful to @falloffreedom for giving me this deadline and holding space for us all across the many layers of this country to gather, create and be free. This reel is from last year… but it was just as magical! (If a little more humid lawd!) by @playwrightlisadamour

A playwright and interdisciplinary collaborator from New Orleans, Lisa D’Amour grew up in a world of ritual, activism, group spectacle and care, all of which continue to thrive in her work. Opening July 10, The Smoker by Lisa D'Amour brings together a group of neighbors whose weekly gathering becomes something much more: a place of connection, debate, support, and belonging. At a time when genuine community can feel increasingly rare, this powerful new play explores the relationships that sustain us, challenge us, and help us make sense of a changing world. Through humor, honesty, and spirited conversation, The Smoker celebrates the bonds we build when we choose to show up for one another. Join us this summer for this moving world premiere and discover one of five new plays at CATF. Secure your tickets today! @butlerdarrin’s eyewear is so hot people are buying them off his face. I was at @paganpics st.joseph’s day event when a woman (not the one pictured) walked up to Darrin and would not leave until he sold her the one-of-a-kind handmade sunglasses he was wearing. He offered to keep in touch and make her her own pair and she said “I can’t wait till tomorrow” and held out $400 cash. Darrin knew what to do. Really yall these are true works of art … each pair precisely crafted with unique designs by the most New Orleans man in New Orleans. DM @butlerdarrin or @blackpicassoeyewear for a consultation to purchase your pair! by @playwrightlisadamour
