Marx Yearned Too!

The Man in the Moon by Karl Marx:

“See, breathed upon by starlight’s glance,
Swift up and down a-hopping,
The Man in the Moon beats out his dance,
His lively limbs a-bobbing.
Soft weeping dew of Heaven shines
Tangled in curly hair,
Then trickles down on to the plains
Till blossoms tinkle there.
And now it sparkles, sprouts apace
In flakelets gold and pale.
The flowerbells tell the earthly place
The Moonman’s grievous tale.
He waves in such a friendly way
But deep his sorrows smart.
He would be with the sinking ray,
Lean to the Sun’s full heart.
He’s tarried long, he’s listened long
To hear the rising spheres.
He pines, he yearns to be a song,
To thaw in dancing flowers.
Earth’s glade is covered with his pain
Till field and meadow ring;
Rapt with his own sweet shine, he then
Beats, reconciled, his wings.” by @plbmagazine

Koba, Stalin, Soselo?

The Outcast by Soselo:

He knocked on strangers’ doors,
Going from house to house,
With an old oaken panduri
And that simple song of his.

But in his song, his song—
Pure as the sun’s own gleam—
Resounded a truth profound,
Resounded a lofty dream.

Hearts that had turned to stone
Were made to beat once more;
In many, he’d rouse a mind
That slumbered in deepest murk.

But instead of the laurels he’d earned,
The people of his land
Fed the outcast poison,
Placing a cup in his hand.

They told him: “Damned one, you must
Drink it, drain the cup dry…
Your song is foreign to us,
We prefer to live in a lie!” by @plbmagazine

We stand in solidarity with our friend Fergie Chambers during this difficult and unprecedented moment.

The United States’ dubious efforts to extradite him over allegations connected to his longstanding support for Palestinian humanitarian causes—to his aid for the victims of the ongoing genocide—is a base, targeted political attack and raises profoundly troubling questions about the future of progressive political work and international solidarity.

Spain must not allow for US extradition and must ensure full protection over his legal rights—going further to grant political asylum.

Fergie Chambers made a lot of things happen for a lot of people. His commitment to humanitarian support, to working class media, to radical publishing, to organizers and organizations dedicated to social and economic equality—to all of these his contributions have been immeasurable.

EPISODE TEN: RED FICTION 📕

A GREAT LOVE BY ALEXANDRA KOLLONTAI

An exploration of what it’s like to fall into someone else’s shadow. Kollontai’s fiction is never given the credit it’s due, and sadly this frustrating tale of organising with lovers is still applicable today.

Thanks so much to everyone who has followed along for this series and thank you for all the suggestions of revolutionary fiction! I’ve been reading a lot of them and can’t wait to make some videos about them, and please do comment your recommendations below too! ❤️

Oh and this book also contains two short stories alongside the title story.

From Gaza to Wales, my literary works continue to travel and soar everywhere, and I am still here, besieged, fearful, hungry, searching for a glimmer of hope to see what the world looks like. Will the day come when I travel?! by @plbmagazine

Niclas Y Glais is hands down my favourite Welsh Comrade to have traversed this beautiful land!

Years ago I had ideas to make videos about Welsh comrades but was too shy to do it with my face on camera, so expect more of these! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🤝

“[I] found that the Socialist system, if worked properly, and especially the Communist system, agreed very much with the doctrine of the Gospel. There is a great clash between what Jesus taught and the people’s way of life. The stock exchange, warfare, nation oppressing nation, but there is no clash between the teachings of the Gospel and those of Marx”

May Day!

“…[T]he day when the workers of all lands celebrate Their awakening to a class-conscious life, their solidarity in the struggle against all coercion and oppression of man by man, the struggle to free the toiling millions from hunger, poverty, and humiliation. Two worlds stand facing each other in this great struggle: the world of capital and the world of labour, the world of exploitation and slavery and the world of brotherhood and freedom” (Lenin, 1904).

The only hope for humanity—for the earth itself—is a communism which recenters the planet as the core sustaining factor of biotic existence; abolishing forever the profit logic of production enacted by a small class of world-eaters and profiteers.

Lenin showed us the way.
