I’m beyond grateful and truly humbled to have been chosen as one of the influencers from New Zealand invited to the ASAP in Australia 🇦🇺🪃2026 Media Conference at the TikTok Event Centre.

I finally get to share the intimate interviews with the ASAP superstars! ❤️ Now I completely understand why they delivered such an unforgettable performance🎵 at the ASAP XP Australia show last Saturday at the TikTok Entertainment Centre in Sydney.

I honestly wish I could include all of their answers🎤 because every single one was inspiring, but I wanted to keep this video short and easy to watch.

The more I got to talk to them, the more I understood why millions of people love them❤️, and why many of them have remained icons and legends for so many years. It's not just because they're incredibly talented,🏆 multi-award-winning, and internationally recognized artists. It's their humility, their values, the way they speak, and the genuine kindness they show to everyone around them. You can really see their character, and it made me understand why they're so deeply loved by their fans.❤️

❤️ I’ve never believed in anything this much before.

For most of my life, I’ve had so many passions — arts, sports, events, marketing, teaching and community work. I always wondered, “What am I really meant to do?”

🐲 SOUTHERN DRAGONS WĀHINE — 500M RACE COMPILATION 🐲
Heats • Semifinals • Grand Final
15th IDBF Club Crew World Championships — Hualien, Taiwan 🇹🇼

Our first ever Club Crew World Championships… and what a ride it has been! 🛶🐲🌎

Our little Christchurch 🇳🇿 club lined up against some of the most established dragon boat programs in the world — crews with years of international experience, elite paddlers and multiple World Championship campaigns from 🇨🇦 Canada, 🇩🇪 Germany, 🇺🇸 USA, 🇦🇺 Australia, 🇭🇰 Hong Kong, 🇹🇼 Chinese Taipei and beyond.

And somehow… Southern Dragons Wāhine finished 6th in the WORLD! 🌎🔥

For a first-time CCWC crew, with first-year paddlers and four Seniors 😅, making it all the way to the Grand Final and racing side-by-side with some of the world’s best is something we will never forget.

We came here as a small club from Christchurch, but we carried something much bigger with us — the flag and spirit of Aotearoa New Zealand 🇳🇿. It was an absolute privilege and a very humbling experience to represent our country on this world stage.

A huge kia kaha and congratulations to our fellow NZ crews who represented Aotearoa in Hualien — Steel Dragons 🇳🇿, Amazon Hearts 🇳🇿 and Cansurvive Dragon Boat Team 🇳🇿. What an incredible achievement for NZ dragon boating! ❤️🐲🇳🇿

And to all the incredible crews we raced alongside — thank you for the inspiration, the competition, and the memories. This experience has shown us just how much more there is to learn, and how far a small club with a big heart can go.

When I turned 40, I started noticing that my body wasn’t the same anymore.

Slower. Heavier. Losing weight became harder, and gaining it back became way too easy. 😅

Having arthritis in both knees didn’t help either. Suddenly, things I used to do without thinking — jumping for volleyball and basketball, bending and moving for dancing, pivoting and accelerating for soccer — became harder.

And recovering from a hangover? Forget it. 😂

I guess my body was telling me:

You may still be young at heart, but you need to start taking care of the body that carries you.

Especially with all the pressure, commitments and responsibilities that come with life.

So MOVE.🏃‍♀️
Don’t stop sweating.

The more stressed you are, the more you need to sweat it out.💦

Because exercise isn’t just about losing weight or looking good. It’s about clearing your head. Releasing stress. Getting those endorphins going. Finding focus.

It makes you resilient.
It keeps your mind calm.

And honestly, I need that now more than ever.

So, since I’m turning 41 this December…

Let’s see if I can bring back those college abs. 😂😅

But here’s the part people don’t see.

People see me as energetic, positive and full of life.

What they don’t see is the daily battle behind it.

The doubts.
The fear.
The worries.
The overthinking.
The constant self-talk.

Being positive doesn’t mean you don’t struggle.

Being strong doesn’t mean you don’t get tired.

Sometimes, strength is simply choosing to keep going.

So if you’re struggling with something right now, remember this:

Believe in yourself.

It’s okay to fail.
It’s okay to make mistakes.
It’s okay to mess things up.

Believe me, I’ve failed MANY times. 😂
But I kept going.

And I’m still here.

Still learning.
Still growing.
Still fighting.
Still dreaming.

So keep going.💪

The doubts are noise.
The fear is noise.
Other people’s opinions are noise.

Don’t let the noise decide who you are.

Keep moving.
Keep believing.
Keep becoming.

You do you.

You’ll get there eventually. ❤️

🇹🇼🐉 A little Hualien exploring before the Dragon Boat battles!

When our team arrived in Hualien for the IDBF Club Crew World Championships, we took some time to explore the city and soak in a little of what makes Hualien so special. 📸

Hualien has such a unique character — a beautiful mix of Chinese and Japanese influences, with traces of its Japanese-era history woven into the city. Its retro streets, old buildings and peaceful corners give it a vintage feel, while the vibrant colours, food, culture and everyday life of Taiwan bring the city to life. 🇹🇼✨

But what really stood out to us was the people. ❤️
We met so many kind, peaceful and helpful locals. Even though not everyone speaks English, the welcoming smiles and a lot of Google Translate made communication surprisingly easy! 😅

These little moments away from the race course have become such a special part of our Dragon Boat journey.

3 MORE DAYS TO GO! 🇳🇿🐉

We are ready to paddle side by side with the world’s elite.

Being on the same water with some of the strongest paddlers in the world is already a dream come true for me as a paddler.

When I was in Dubai paddling with Dragon Warriors, I wasn’t able to join the World Championships in Italy. And now, after all the different sports I’ve played throughout my life, I finally get the opportunity to represent a country — New Zealand, our new home. 🇳🇿

And I get to do it with not just a team, but my whānau.

It is an absolute honour to paddle alongside these strong wāhine who have sacrificed so much and given their all in every training session. Their strength, determination, and commitment are something I will carry with me as inspiration every time we get on that boat.

I would also like to sincerely thank everyone who contributed to my fundraising, and all our Southern Dragons teammates who have supported us throughout this journey. Every bit of support has helped us get here.

A huge thank you to our coach Shaun, who have done a tremendous job keeping us sharp, focused, and ready. The training programme that prepared us for this moment has pushed us beyond what we thought we could do.

We have endured cold winter trainings — literally freezing water, where every stroke left our hands numb. We have gone through countless hard sessions, pushing our bodies to their limits and constantly stepping outside our comfort zones.

And now, here we are.

Ready to represent our families back home, our teammates, our supporters, and to show what Aotearoa paddlers have got. 🇳🇿

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for all your support. Whether it was a cheer, a comment, a message, a post, a share, a donation, or simply believing in us — we are grateful for every single one of you.

We are putting all of our Southern Dragons mana into that boat.

We will paddle as one.
We will give it everything we have.
And we will leave it all on the water. 🐉🚣‍♀️🇳🇿
