“ Just living is not enough.... one must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower.” - Hans Christian Anderson . David Austin’s Spirit of Freedom Rose climbs the wall in my garden as if to say walls are for roses and freedom has never been more precious. #nofilter#davidaustinroses#davidaustin#climbingroses#spiritoffreedom by @plohni18

On this day, September 11th, made sacred by the sacrifice of innocents living their everyday lives, the remains of Rosa Fourth of July. In bloom, it is literally striped with the fireworks of ideals: Life, Liberty, Freedom and mutual respect. Only we, through our actions , can insure these values survive , as the seeds w/ in the rose hips continue to give the rose new life. My mother fled to the US from WWII , and this country was a beacon of hope and sanctuary. It is the reason I am alive to grow roses and work for a better tomorrow. Each day and each insult to peace and understanding challenges us to think harder how to wage Peace and a world where children can grow up and thrive despite the hatred adults perpetuate #sept11th #DavidAustinroses #roses #peace #mutualrespect #hopeforthefuture #howcanlovefail by @plohni18

Welcome Freshman! New this year.... David Austin’s Rosa Wollerton Old Hall bought in error, thinking I was buying 2 Desdemonas. Unlucky in buying DAs from the White Rose family... both Claire Austin’s came up as Tradescant my first two scarlet roses. Either way, grateful they are doing well and bring me joy. #roses #davidaustinroses by @plohni18

Ode to The Queen Of Soul, The great Aretha Franklin, Rosa Skylark. Skylark is a song in whose second verse her voice jumped an octave intimidating even Etta James and Sarah Vaughn according to David Remnick in The New Yorker . Was lucky enough to hear her live at The Cape Cod Melody Tent #arethafranklin #aretha #naturalwoman #queenofsoul #davidaustinroses #davidaustinrose #asongisaroseinvibration #youwillremembermynameimtheonewhobeatyouatyourgame by @plohni18
