I've a tiny collection of @tinklecomicsstudio comics - my dad would buy them to read during the train rides to Kerala 🥹 and he'd be sure to get two, so my brother & I wouldn't end up fighting over one 😂

(I don't keep my books like this ALL the time, no need to worry about spine damage + I periodically swap out the books at the very bottom so they aren't constantly weighed down)

I don't get to buy physical copies often (I mostly read on my kindle + the closest bookstore is SO far away guys 🥀) but when I do, it's mostly fantasy.

quite recently, I bought a couple of classics from a thrift store, and I'm waiting for autumn to arrive to dive into them!!

The Folk of the Air and A Good Girl's Guide to Murder are two of my favourite book series! 💌

it's hard to continue studying japanese when you've no one to practice with T_T

happy release day to Trust Fall by Lynn Painter! 🍂

Trust Fall is a fall-themed YA contemporary romance set in NYC with family drama and a romance that made me cry towards the end 🥹🧡

this was my first Lynn Painter book, and I'm so glad I took a chance and requested the arc because the last few chapters had me FEELING THINGS.

this was such a sweet, entertaining read!! I absolutely loved the Gardenwood setting, and Lynn Painter is REALLY good at writing emotional conversations. the way she handled the breakup and everything that came after had me feeling things I was not prepared for.

CHAPTER 51, BITCHHHH. MY HEART. I have gone through something very similar to what julia and will experienced, and reading that scene had me SOBBING. every chapter after that was basically me going 🥹😭😭🥲😭🥹😭🥲🥹 at the book and I have SO many feelings about it overall.

📚 Into the Luminous Storm
This was... nothing as I expected, and everything that I wanted!

Cass was an absolute delight to read. She's quick with her words and her actions—the first time she defeated Falcon in a duel, I was sitting there like 😍💞 She's independent, smart, and an actually strong lead, but more importantly, she does stuff. She makes decisions, takes action, gets herself into situations, and actively pushes the story forward!

while Cass was exactly the kind of protagonist I enjoy following, I'm less sold on Falcon. he's... fine, sure, but I'm still not ready to forgive him for the shít he pulled at the beginning of the book 🫣

I could not tell whether he was being an asshóle or if he was supposed to be teasing Cass and flirting with her. and ughhh. look, I don’t pick up on flirting that easily, so perhaps that one is on me 😭 Cass seems to have forgiven him, though, so maybe I'll get there eventually.

I loved the rebellion group, and the found family aspect was one of my favourite parts because they're all just a bunch of cuties. the fox too. cute!!

I can't wait for book two to come out cause the ending in this?? I was NOT expecting that! by @plotdamn

I really liked the opening for this, cause we are thrown straight into the story (it starts with a death though 😭) and I was immediately curious to know where Cora's life was gonna go. and then we get a chosen-one story, except our chosen one is a grieving widow who gets selected by a mysterious magical book to become the Guardian of the Fae and bring them back to the world!

this was also surprisingly cozy! I mean, I was reading this while walking around my room when it was raining outside, so that could've added to it. the characters were awkwardly adorable. Cora has a tendency to laugh when things get weird, Mae is perpetually angry at literally everything, and Thaddeus is... well. Thaddeus. I'm not gonna spoil him for you guys 🫣

to wrap this up: this was more of a relaxing, cozy fantasy-mystery read than a I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT OR I WILL LOSE IT read, and sometimes that's exactly what you need 💚 by @plotdamn

as y'all know, I read quite a lot in a single month, and posting separate reviews for each book felt a bit... much.

it got to a point where I decided to take a short break and I didn't come back for like 2 whole months? 😧 crazy.

anyways, this is a new series where I'll take a couple of books I read & hopefully you'll be able to find your next read through my reviews! 💌

⌚: I recommend if you'd like to read a book where the author plays around with the idea of time and clocks!

🌙: sapphic enemies-to-lovers but I wasn't fully sold on the lovers part :( still, you may enjoy this!

🦇: I actually cannot recommend this book. except if you maybe wanna read one more beauty & the beast retelling? go for it??

🪸: read for the amazing portrayal of grief & for the way Jihad stays true to her faith. by @plotdamn

I am a sucker for adorable small towns in romances and Honey Oak Harbor is basically a 10 on the cuteness scale!! I mean just take a look at the place names: we have Sunflower Street, Daisy Drive, Humble Bumble Creamery, Ember Rose Cafe, Books in Bloom Library, Clover Court, and so much more!!

I know it sounds saccharine, and the characters acknowledge that in the book as well, but sometimes it's exactly what the mind requires—cozy, small-town realness 🙂‍↕️

to write a bit about the plot, I do not know how to make this sound normal, so at the risk of sounding like a weirdo: I loved that there was a murder-mystery finding-out-the-truth element to this! genuinely put a smile on my face when I read page 15. I've been wanting to read a low-stakes mystery for a while now and this came to me at the right time 💛

the ~mystery~ aspect of it was well-done, and the tension gradually builds up, instead of dumping everything on the reader all at once. it makes the ending that much more satisfying :)

Theo... Theo. what a man. he's hot. he's a golden retriever bf. he understands Willa. he shows his love through not just his words, but also his actions. he builds things for her <3

it's too bad I cannot reveal the things this guy builds for Willa out of love cause it would be spoilers (and quite big ones) so... read the book if you wanna know!! or slide into my dms! 🤭🫣

Willa my sweet girl 🥹🫂 I will always love a librarian and bookworm character, so I knew she'd have my heart the moment we were introduced to her.

she's been hurt before, but doesn't let that come in the way of her relationship with Theo. scratch that, BOTH of them had issues and history, but their relationship was healthy and lovely to read <3

I wish we got to spend more time with Willa and Theo falling in love with each other because they were so cute oh my god 🥹💛 they have nice & easy banter; it builds up gradually and doesn't sound unnatural when it pops up. he literally builds her a <SPOILER>, y'all. it can't get sweeter than that!!
