This is probably my most meaningful painting I’ve done. I’ve always been open about my past opiate and heroin addiction, and this painting was to symbolize how tattooing saved my ass from dying. I needed to find something bigger than the heroin and pills. Tattooing was and is that ‘something greater’. This painting reminds me of the last 12 and half years of being clean from dope. I found myself within tattooing again and vowed to never again take it for granted. It’s the greatest job I could ever imagine and I owe soo much of this life to the two people directly involved with me becoming a tattooer. Addiction is fucking awful and I will always take the time to have a conversation about my past struggles with anyone especially if they or someone they love is going thru it. taken in Slow Ride Tattoo & Gallery by @ploudink
