April is National Poetry Month We will be having workshop April 18th next Saturday! 1 pm to 4 pm at @boogiedowngrind 868 Hunts Point Ave, The Bronx, NY. Afterwards we will have @cafetatonyc uptown’s coffee rave. On national poetry month, like anything revered it’s imperative we ask “Why Poetry?” Poems hold our grief, passions, and intimacy, this is not unique to the art style. What makes it unique, keeps it relevant, we will discuss this on “Why Poetry?” Month. The quote to frame this conversation is a Robert Frost quote “[Poetry is] a momentary stay against confusion” Multiple artist have given a variation on “good artists copy, great artists steal.” Let’s steal what we like from poetry, and apply it to our writing so we can create peace in this confusion. Shout to @anevolution_ for being our special guest last month, you made the day special with your presence! Stay on the look out for our Mixer May 1st and more… #nationalpoetrymonth #whypoetry #nycevents #plumbumwriters writersworkshop by @plumbumapp

The poet left the park, grabbed the mic, and found herself among fellow creators in the Bronx. 🎤📚 Meet Sol, @decibeo: writer, community organizer, entrepreneur, and collaborator with @bxwriters. He’s also the creator of @plumbumapp, a platform with a mobile app and website. And when the writing workshop ends? The coffee shop becomes a dance floor. Sol co-hosts @cafetato, the post-workshop coffee rave. Yes, we write. Yes, we party, too. ☕🪩 Through The Poet Beyond the Park, I’m meeting the people who make things and make room for others to create, too. Here’s a little of my conversation with Sol. One creator getting curious about another. What would you ask a fellow creator? ✨ Follow @decibeo, connect with @bxwriters, explore @plumbumapp at https://plumbum.app, and check out @cafetato for the post-workshop party. ☕🪩 Follow @lbfisher for more from The Poet Beyond the Park. taken in Andrew Freedman Home by @plumbumapp

This is going to be our 4th mixer! At Plumbum, the core is discovery, search, and redefining. We bring people of different backgrounds and experiences together. When we say mix, we don’t mean mingle. We mean chemistry, the kind that can lead to the next idea, project, or connection. We are hosting a mixer: 📍 @afhbronx 📅 Oct 9th ⏰ 7 pm to 10 pm We are looking for vendors to be part of imagining that joyous future. The vending fee is $10. We like all types of vendors, whether you’re sharing your art, lighters, food, perfumes, books, or if you want a table to advocate for something, fill the form through the QR code or link in bio @plumbumapp @decibao Ticket Link in bio @decibao @plumbumapp P.S. When we first announced the community ticket was not on the posh. It is now, get a ticket, see you there. by @plumbumapp
