If you're looking for some bookish accounts to follow, give these ones a try. I love the bookstagram community and sometimes people make my day - here are a few who have this week! taken in Newcastle, New South Wales by @plumedenoom

I loved this series so much that it actually inspired me to write. I loved Jason and I spent some time thinking about other classic Aussie/Kiwi characters who would be primo in an adventure scenario, and that's how I ended up writing about Maude. 🙂

The RWAus Conference is basically here! I haven't been to a conference like this before so I have no conference-specific recommendations, but as a Darwin local, I wanted to share a few fun tips for those visiting. I've grown to really love this place and these are just a few of my favourite haunts. ☺️

FYI, I haven't had a bad coffee anywhere and the Darwin Library is central if you need a free writing spot. Can't wait to see you all there!

Tickets are still available: https://willorganise.eventsair.com/2026-rwa/

These are both fantastic reads:
- Woo Woo by Ella Baxter
- Cloudstreet by Tim Winton

Have you read them? What did you think, if so?

I have to confess that I read both of these a while ago, but have thought about them a lot since and both deserve a re-read soon.

I mean, I'd put in an application if the job came up, but I'd definitely want to talk with HR about my options, ya know?

Do you agree with this or have I missed anything?

Update on the 'ol writing challenge. Thanks for holding me to it, friends. Let's do it again some time (but not too soon, I need more frozen peas for my limp wrists).

The true creative process.

Also, who has time to window clean when they're smashing out novels?!
