Building renovation and expansion project of a 1960s detached house.

The living space was expanded by adding a new volume that extends laterally on two sides of the existing building, of which only the exterior walls and parts of the floor slabs were preserved.
Inside, the utility areas—garages, laundry room, boiler room, bathroom, and storage—were placed on the ground floor. From the street-facing entrance area, which opens onto the main staircase, you reach the first floor. This level hosts the living area, characterized by a double-height space created by demolishing one of the existing floor slabs, the kitchen located within the expansion, a bedroom with a walk-in closet, and a bathroom. From the night-area hallway, a custom feature staircase leads to the attic, which houses an additional bedroom with a private en-suite bathroom.
The design scope extended to all furnishing components, which were custom-designed and bespoke: iron and wood are the interior leitmotif of a rational environment with pure shapes, intentionally contrasting with the texture of the finishes.
On the exterior, the plastered facades are characterized by the window openings of the two floors, enclosed within metal frames, and by the wood cladding applied to the entrance area and the south facade of the expansion. On this front, a metal structure used as a terrace was installed, designed and built using painted stainless-steel tubular profiles.
