I figured it was time to update my “Meet the Artist” post!

Look! It’s me! 🗣️‼️

Project Halloween Mary (With James Ortiz!) 🪨🚀
#projecthailmary

(image quality is lower res due to compression files into instagram)

I designed and created a human version of Rocky! This meant a lot as the LGBTQ+ community has welcomed Rocky as an androgynous queer character, especially due to James Ortiz’s presence as a queer man! 🏳️‍🌈 Being non-binary, I felt very connected to Rocky and was over the moon 🔭 to have the opportunity to impersonate him and meet @jortface!

Halloween away from my home has been so difficult at college so being able to watch one of my new favorite movies and meet such a talented creator made my Halloween worth it 🎃 by @pluvisoon_

Ascension Laboratories - A Center of Scientific Innovation

I figured I would officially post this animatic since I talk about it so much and I’m so excited to start animating it soon. It’s a minute long opening sequence for the Ascension Labs movie, or it’s working/placeholder title, “Ascension”

This sequence has been stuck in my head for about a year and a half at this point, and over this last summer, I was able to storyboard and get it into the animatic stage. Ever since the first time I heard the song “Introduction” by Solar Fields, which is originally from the game “Mirror’s Edge,” this concept has been living in my head. Every time this song decides to play, I remember what I’m working towards. I remember to keep following my dreams, because I cannot wait for this movie and this story to come to fruition.

I edited all the audio and added in all the sound effects too, I am proud of it. I’m proud of this whole thing, and I can’t wait to finish it because it’s absolutely my most ambitious project to date 😛

In the late afternoon on a cloudy August day, Julie works away at her desk. She’s brought her digicam with her to work at the lab today, wanting to document her typical daily experience. After working on a report for a few hours, she gets up from her desk in need of a break. With a cup of instant ramen in hand, Julie heads to the break room near the intern cubicles. Soon after she puts her ramen in the microwave, Ellison arrives to get another cup of coffee. While the two stand right next to each other, Julie remembers she has her digicam in her pocket. She grabs it, holds up a peace sign, glances at Ellison and says, “Smile!” She snaps a picture of the two of them, Ellison confused as to what just happened. He asks her, “Did you just take a picture of us?” Julie replies, “Yeah gramps, ever heard of a selfie?” as her ramen finishes cooking in the microwave. She briskly walks out of the break room and back to her desk, soon to have the photo printed out and hung in her cubicle.

I finally got time to finish up an illustration I started back in August!! I’m so happy with how this turned out and I love drawing interactions between these two so much 🫶

Curse you SCAD for taking away all my free time

Hands! 🙌

Sorry for not posting any art lately! My ANIM 272 class, which is a puppet rigging class, is taking up so much of my time. It’s a lot of work but it’s also honestly been really fun and super cool to figure out how to create puppet rigs!

I think this weekend I’ll finally have time to finish up an illustration I started in September, so perhaps a new illustration soon? But for now, have some hands from my gesture class. I guess this is kind of a self portrait through hands? I don’t know, I had to make something up for critique.

Speedpaint of Ellison in his tuxedo 🥂

Mainly posting this so the algorithm doesn’t beat me up for not posting anything.

I have had so much homework and no free time… thank you SCAD. But I promise I’m trying to find time to work on my own artwork! Hopefully I’ll post an illustration soon!

Infinite Potential

My final installation of Ascension Laboratories posters for my dorm room this year. Although this poster turned out simpler than I thought, I feel like it honestly adds to the final illustration. 1171 realizes that he is a creature forced by science and not necessarily out of love and that’s why he has such an abhorrence towards the scientists working in the Special Experiments Program as well as Ellison.

I can’t believe that this is my first time using a song from the Severance soundtrack for my illustrations… they fit really well.

Innovation Without Boundaries

This is my first time doing an illustration in a format that’s more graphic design-y/abstract? I hope that makes sense. I feel like most of my illustrations are story focused and grounded in reality, but this one has those more abstract elements. Yeah, that makes sense.

I love how this illustration turned out. I had so much fun designing the background once I finally thought of how I wanted it to look. I had the general idea of what I wanted to do, but my brain was struggling to come up with an actual composition. I hope you have fun looking at all the cool details!

Another Ascension Laboratories poster 🌐

This poster was also super fun to create. The image I used for Ascension Laboratories is actually the old Sears headquarters in Hoffman Estates, IL. It unfortunately was demolished last summer, but that building is exactly how I imagine Ascension Laboratories to look. Even more so because it was actually built in the 90s.

I still have more posters I’m making, but these next few will be more illustration focused rather than ads ‼️

This is a repost because Instagram is evil and only allotted me 7 likes on the last one 😔💔

One of my new Ascension Laboratories posters for my dorm room this year 🌐

I had a lot of fun making this one. I composited all the images together, so, for example, the microscope and the PC were two separate images I had found, cut out, and then matched the lighting and shadows. I also did some research into 90s/00s ad designs in order to try and make it accurate to the era 😛

I’ll be posting more of these as I get them done 🫡

Ellison wearing his fancy tuxedo once again 🥂

This illustration was inspired by/a study of a J.C. Leyendecker illustration for Arrow Collars and Shirts. I adore Leyendecker’s art and honestly, a lot of how my style looks now comes from his art.

I had so much fun with this illustration and I LOVE how it came out. I think I might make this one into a poster for my dorm room. I hope I can get it to print nicely though. My posters always print too dark, and I haven’t found the best way to correct it yet 😔

As guests arrive at the annual Scientific Innovations Gala, an orchestra plays softly in the background. Beautiful dresses and gowns of all colors are speckled throughout the crowd, as refined and elegant tuxedos mark their wearers with notes of confidence. Julie throws a sarcastic remark about all the awards and recognitions Ellison has won in previous years at the gala, while Ellison stands proudly, knowing that he’s about to win again. As everyone finds their seats, each defined with a small, handwritten name card, the evening is just beginning.

Three words: Don’t. Draw. Crowds. The background for this illustration was so annoying, it’s probably the most complex one I’ve drawn to date 😭

But I do love drawing Ellison and Julie in their fancy outfits 🫶
