Happy World Card Making Day. I know we live in a digital world but I also know people love to receive a paper card. A handmade card is extra special because the recipient knows it was made with love. It’s like a paper hug ❤️

I know that a lot of people have already made a great start on their holiday cards. I used the Holly and starts from stamp set TE63 “A Promise of Tomorrow” to make this card. The sentiment is from TE22 “Christmas Wishes”. The background was inspired by a recent post by Kassi Hulet (@klynneart on Instagram). She made a floral card with watercolor stripes in the background and I loved the effect. I positioned my stripes a little differently but I was absolutely inspired by her make. I fussy cut the Holly Branches but with Tracy’s new die set DI11, you can easily die cut the Holly. I stamped the stars with embossing ink and embossed them in gold. I added glossy accents to the Holly berries to give them a little shine. I placed my top panel on a gold mirror mat layer and then added those to a deep green card
Base. I edged my sentiment strip with gold to toe in with the gold in the panel and mat layer. I love how this card turned out. The stamp sets are available on Tracy’s website: www.tracyevansboutiquedesigns.com

Hello and welcome to the Create It 3 Ways IG Hop! We are sharing triple the inspiration! This is a monthly hop on every 3rd Saturday at 3 PM ET – please message @amritapettus for more info if you’d like to join us.

This month’s hop theme is: Thank You

Each month we challenge ourselves by choosing our own product/technique to feature across all 3 cards. I chose to feature the beautiful Rudbeckia florals, stars and birds from Tracy Evans Boutique Designs stamp set TE63 “A Promise of Tomorrow”

The blue card features the flower on a background created using Tracy’s 6 x 6 Grunge stencil. I embellished it with the postal stamp from Tracy’s stamp set TE64 “Special Delivery” and the small moth stamp from TE27 “Insect”. For the orange card, I created a border by stamping the distressed stars from TE63 and coloured in the background with Ecoline marker. I embellished it by stamping the smaller star from the set with embossing ink and embossed in gold. For the air mail card I used the small Rudbeckia stamp and bird from TE63 to decorate the sweet post card from TE64. The theme is thank you but I only used a thank you sentiment on one of the cards because sometimes I like to add the thank you in my own words inside the card.

I love the Garden Pail Bouquet die set from Memory Box. The Spellbinders Emerald Cut Labels pair perfectly with the pail bouquet elements. I used a combination of watercolor and Tombow watercolor markers to colour the elements. The products are available at Scrap en masse: https://scrapenmasse.com/

After making the card with the Kraft star on white with gold accents, I decided to make a Christmas card. I cut a red card panel 3.75” x 5” and I used the Snippet Stencil Flurry (SS43) to create scribbly circles. I used a white Sakura Gelly Roll pen and traced around the circles in the stencil filling them in but in a scribbly manner as opposed to filling in the circles to make a solid white circle. I used the star die from DI09 to cut a star shaped aperture from copy paper. I placed the aperture over white card panel and I stamped the words and the “25” from stamp sets TE18 and TE22. I used the new Snippet Stencil Cluster (SS42) to add the coloured stars in red and green. Once the stamping and stenciling was done, I removed the star aperture and positioned the star die in the same orientation as the aperture and cut the star. I cut two more stars. One from red cardstock and one from white. I glued the stamped star to the red star, slightly offset so the red star creates a shadow effect. I then glued the white die cut to the back, aligning it with the top layer - it was added just to add dimension. I cut a piece of Christmas ribbon that I had in my stash and I positioned it on the red panel with the white dots. I wrapped the ribbon around the back of the panel and adhered it with double sided tape. I added the red panel to a white mat that I cut with a deckle edge trimmer. I then added those panels to a red card base. I added the star using dimensional foam adhesive for extra dimension and finished it off by adding three silver stars to the ribbon. I love the whimsical feel of the scribbly circles in the background and the stamping on the star. I might just make a batch of these for Christmas. It’s pretty simple to make and it is fun and festive. These products are available at: https://tracyevansboutiquedesigns.com/
