During this down time I started a new YA urban fiction book series. And started revising a script I wrote for a coming of age story called ‘Cycles’ I’m glad my creativity didn’t break with my leg 😂😂😂

Why did I stop posting about my short film? Is it because I didn’t get the views I hoped for? No! Is it because I’ve gotten bad reviews? No!

So picture this this! Last week Monday I’m getting ready to leave the house to go to work. Turn a corner and ‘CRUUUNCH’ I hear something under my foot. I look around for what broke, or what I stepped on. Not seeing anything, I proceed to try to walk out of the door. And boom I fall as soon as I touch my left foot to the ground.

Yup I broke my left leg again. So I’ve been quiet on here as I recover. It’s hard and painful because the left leg is the one I previously had surgery on. (Circa summer 2018)

For those who knew and have checked on me, THANKS! I’m alive. IN PAIN but alive!

For those who’ve told me to slow down, I guess I don’t have a choice now.

But I’m listening to the drs and the advice of those who have given it. And I’ll be okay after while then I’ll flood your timeline with new stories, videos, ideas.

But for now my health comes first.

I may not post many updates on the recovery but there is the truth! 🤦🏽‍♂️

Just went through 1602 voice notes and found so many songs (completed and concepts) and instrumentals I created. And did nothing with any of them but one!!! That made me look at unfinished books, pitches, ideas. I have too much to do, to EVER say I have nothing to do!!!

As a director this was one of my favorite scenes to film. I played with different angles and found different ways to capture his emotion. I practiced on myself for months to get this scene right.

In the end, it developed from me sitting on the floor crying with the phone in hand to him moving from the couch to the floor. The anguish on his face rang true.

I didn’t know if it would cover correctly or come out right, but I decided to trust the process. And I love the outcome. I love being a filmmaker.

People have asked why I am not doing a screening for ‘ The Weight of Letting Go’ truth be told I didn’t think I had the support and didn’t want to put an event together four people to not show up. I was reminded that those who are meant to be there will be there and just because people are silent during the creation, it doesn’t mean they aren’t watching and rooting. Next go round, and there will be a next go round, I’m doing all of the things!!! But for now I’ll celebrate this win
