Goals really are a funny thing. We set our goals based on what we think we’ll be capable of. But the reality of it is that if you wish to achieve your goals, you have to put in the work. And even when you try your hardest, there’s no guarantee that you’ll achieve what you set out for.

I refuse to let how the end of this season went define my worth as a wrestler or as a person. I came up so short of my goal, two years in a row. However, in setting such a high goal for myself, I achieved many things along the way that I would have never thought were possible. I did everything right, yet I still came up short. But my high aspirations nudged me into a lifestyle that taught me important lessons of discipline, mental toughness, and the value of hard work. But most importantly, I learned how to fail.

Thank you God, for granting me the opportunity to compete, to spend time with my teammates and coaches, and for giving me strength in my many times of weakness. I’m truly grateful that I had the privilege to put it all out on the line every time I stepped on the mat. This sport has changed my life, and I wouldn’t want to have it any other way.

To Coach Keske and the @fremd_wrestling__ program: These past 8 years have been nothing short of a blessing. I cannot express enough gratitude and appreciation for the unwavering support I have received throughout my wrestling career. Thank you to my teammates, coaches, and managers who made this amazing journey possible. You all pushed me to be the absolute best version of myself each and everyday. I simply could not have done it without you.
