To My Love,
As a kid
I scoffed at love.
Because one time I put my heart out on display
And someone came a spit on it.
At that moment I began to believe
That love couldn't be mine.
But my heart had still some assurance
And the moment I decided I would confess
Death's swift hands dissolved any hope
And I promised myself I would lock away my heart forever.
I said it was for the weak.
I said it was stupid.
I said it was irresponsible.
And ultimately
I believed I was unworthy of it.
Not capable.
Broken.
and completely terrified.
I knew I was better off alone.
And I lived that truth for a very long time.
That is until YOU came along.
And reminded me every single day
That I am Worthy .
Deserving.
And Loved.
That this life is never going to be easy.
But it's easier to go through it
With someone who loves me.
And the truth is...
I can go through the world alone.
In this life of uncertainty
There are a lot more chances of sadness
Pain
And loss
But there's also many opportunities
For Laughter
Adventure
And Life
But if i could be certain about something
In this life
It's this.
That I want to wake up to your smile.
I want to make you laugh.
I want to be held by you when I cry.
I want to tell you all about my day.
I want to see you grow.
I want to cheer you on when you succeed.
I want to lay with you when you can't get out of bed.
I want to see both of us become the best versions of ourselves.
Every. Single. Day.
There was something you sent me once that said:
"I hope life is kind enough to let me keep you."
Because as much as my Young self said she distained love.
I know now that to be vulnerable is not weak.
To care deeply is not stupid.
And to call someone your love is not irresponsible.
And through it all I found out that I actually always loved love.
I thank you for helping me recognize that deep truth.
Because in loving you, you help me love me.

I love you mi Estrella, Raccoon, Gremlin, Silly Goose, Meep, Star, Love.

With every ounce of love I can give to you,
Your Slipper Horse by @pocketmonkeyexplores

A very cool thing to do at The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum is be a part of their Code of the West digital mosaic!

Pretty much asking you a series of general questions and then adding you to their wall to be a part of tye memories of this place!

I really enjoyed duoing these answers with @stella.slayyy ! We chose to each pick a quality trait each and then joined forces to choose the last one!

You can add yours as well at @nationalcowboymuseum by @pocketmonkeyexplores
