We found the original facade 🙌🏻 This beautiful Tuscan stone facade was fully covered in cement. 😳 Decades ago, cement was added to protect the old stone walls from rain.

But there was just one problem… Old stone houses need to breathe. So we’re removing the cement, stone by stone, and bringing the original facade back to life.

And underneath all that cement? The beautiful original stone. 🤍

Next up: new windowsills made from local volcanic stone, Peperino from Monte Amiata, and new windows. 🤭

Restoration update from Podere Galloni 🤍🇮🇹

The last months have been all about bringing this old farmhouse back to life.

Outside we’re slowly uncovering what nature has hidden over the years 🌿 old cypress trees, flowers, stone walls and forgotten corners.

Inside… a little less romantic 😅 We started with the idea of a smaller renovation and ended up deciding to restore everything properly from the inside out. New water, heating, air conditioning, electricity and all the invisible things that will make this house last for many more years.

It’s taking longer than planned, but some things are worth doing right 🤍

Next chapter: the pretty part begins. Tiles, warm lights, cozy rooms, a pool and slow mornings at Podere Galloni ✨

Renovating a house in Tuscany while living and working in Munich means the project doesn’t start on site, it starts on the Autobahn. Hours and hours between Germany and Italy, music on repeat, windows down, Autostrada ahead. We measure progress in kilometers, playlists, and one very important ritual: the first stop at Autogrill. Espresso, ciabatta, and suddenly it all feels worth it. 🇮🇹🫶🏻

2025 was the most special year for us at Podere Galloni: Magic and lots of work at the same time 💫🫶🏻

Now 2026 begins with the rebuild phase where we will complete the house and start planning the garden and pool. 🙌🏻

Giving our old chestnut doors a new life 🫶🏻

They were handmade by a local craftsman and fit perfectly to each room, so of course we wanted to keep them. But they were super dark and didn’t really match the lighter look we’re going for.

So… we upcycled them with an off-white lacquer 🌿🤍

Steps so far:
1️⃣ Handles off & cleaned
2️⃣ Sanded
3️⃣ Base coat (water-based)
4️⃣ Two layers of lacquer (water-based)
5️⃣ Next up: new modern handles ✨

POV: After years untouched, you pressure-clean the terrace of your Tuscan podere—and it looks like this. 🙌🏻🇮🇹👩‍🌾🪴

Finally got around to pressure-cleaning the terrace after years of letting it sit. Pretty satisfying to see the stone come back to life—one of those simple jobs that makes a big difference. Still a long way to go with the podere, but this felt like a solid start.

As we finalize our renovation concept to submit to the commune, we’re spending this spring caring for the garden, bringing the old cypress and pine tree avenue back to life. 🌿 Soon, we’ll add more color to the garden with local lavender and rosemary, which will bloom alongside our Galloni cherry trees. It feels like everything is slowly coming together, and we’re so excited to see this dream take shape. Part 1: One of the best things about Podere Galloni is how close it is to some of Tuscany’s most iconic spots—just an hour or less to explore all the beauty this region has to offer! ⛱️🌴🍷🍝🌿✨ Here are three of our favorite places to visit nearby:

1️⃣ Siena – This historic city is always a favorite. From the Piazza del Campo to the Duomo, there’s so much history and charm to soak in. 🏛️

2️⃣ Cala Violina – Not too many people know about this hidden beach! The water is crystal clear, and it’s the perfect spot to just relax and take it all in. 🏖️
