We love fútbol.
We reject injustice.

As the World Cup comes to Los Angeles, we celebrate the beauty, culture, and joy of the game while refusing to stay silent about the harm that often comes with mega sporting events.

🌹Community over corporate profit.
🌹Homes over displacement.
🌹Care over policing.
🌹Human rights over political hypocrisy.

We can love the game and still demand accountability.

Our neighborhoods are worth more than a spectacle.

Del barrio, pa’l barrio.
For the hood, by the hood. ✊🏽🌹

New Year! New Team! New Crew!

¡Somos PodeRosas! ✊🏽🌹

we are the angel city podeRosas, created in the fall of 2021, by some amazing chingonxs who call LA home. we come together with a shared love for our city and a deep desire to build community, presence, and support for LA’s first national women’s soccer league team: Angel City Football Club.
podeRosas aim to create a supporter space in the soccer world that is led by and for women and femmes of color, one which is committed to values of care, social justice, and collective joy. we imagine a space, which reflects the world we want our children to grow up in. as such, how we show up for the game is how we show up in the world.

LET'S GO ANGEL CITY!
¡VAMOS ANGEL CITY FC!

PodeRosas crew got to meet up with @somosmaremoto reps this week @eldistrito14 in Boyle Heights. 💖 The two groups collaborated on a message of ICE OUT for the Boyle Heights Block Party on June 18th, giving out free screen printed t-shirts, totes, and posters. ✊🏾🌹

Huge shout out to Guillermo for hosting the group and celebrating the collaboration. And make sure to check out the upcoming event in Glendale happening tomorrow! Space is limited but still available! ⚽️

The fight for collective liberation knows no boundaries. As PodeRosas, we stand in fierce solidarity with our African American siblings in celebrating Juneteenth, the historic day when the echo of freedom finally reached Galveston, Texas. From the fields to the neighborhoods, our struggles against systemic oppression have always been connected. We know that our freedom is bound up in one another’s. In this political moment, as our histories, ideas, and communities face ongoing attacks, we commit to defending each other, learning from one another, and building a united front for true, liberatory justice and collective joy. ✊🏿✊🏾

Join us at the @boyleheights_chamber Block Party as we celebrate the power of community, our love for the beautiful game, and our commitment to keeping families together. ⚽️🌹

Stop by for free ICE OUT screen printing by PodeRosas and @somosmaremoto (while supplies last), grab yourself a cafecito from @cafecito_caracol, and connect with neighbors, local businesses, and fellow fútbol fans. 💓 Together, we show that Boyle Heights is rooted in solidarity, culture, and collective care—on and off the pitch. ⚽️✨
