I've said it before, but for some reason I still didn't fully get it. Just because you've healed or done work on yourself doesn't mean the other person has. Or even if they have, it doesn't mean they're meant to be in your life. Just because the connection is a family member, long time friend, or ex lover, doesn't mean you're meant to travel this whole lifetime together. We know the saying "Seasonal friends" but we still tend to secretly hold on to the fantasy that we will one day be validated or valued properly by the same people who disrespected us to begin with. I know it's hard to believe that anyone would knowingly betray you, or hurt you on purpose. But sometimes we have to take our blinders off and admit to ourselves that we deserved better, it wasn't our fault, and see that they're not supposed to be in our lives any longer. The lesson isn't learned until you stop waiting for the return, the day they turn around, chase you down, admit their wrongs, beg for an apology and another chance. It seems silly. Ofc, we know that. Then why do we still do it?

Oh, you caught yourself repeating cycles? But you caught it a lot quicker this time, didn't cha?

But this time it felt different. This time it wasn't a surprise. Your disappointment felt more detached from your current reality than ever.

This time it felt like acceptance. All of the acceptance that I needed.

My biggest lesson in this season was allowing the healed version of my inner child to see clearly for herself that she was never to blame and it was okay to let go of the pain she held for other people for so many years. It was seeing that it was never a victim mentality that she had to let go of, but it was the people who victimized her that were not well intended that needed to be seen for who they actually were in her life. Not through the rose colored glasses where they looked like family and friends.

I talk about the release of guilt and shame a lot. I believe those two emotions are deeply rooted causes of depression and anxiety.

You don't have to...

Be a good girl in everyone's eyes
Participate in functions that you're not comfortable in
Have a ton of friends
Appease your family

What was my biggest lesson that I learned this season?

To stop waiting for the turn around.

My biggest most recent lesson in life is to understand that once I've gathered the information, the strength, and the courage to walk away, not to leave with the expectation that the other person is on the same path of self realization, healing, forgiveness or even has the willingness to look at themselves with a care of how they could have shown up better... I noticed that I was walking away but not exactly letting go. It wasn't a form of manipulation or control for me to walk away. I walked away because I got tired of being hurt over and over again. But I think there was a part of me that thought once I was gone it would leave room for them to have self reflection, take accountability, have remorse, or maybe even come back one day with an apology, or even better than that, changed behavior. And what I learned was that walking away was only the starting point of healing.

NAMASTE, Friends and Family! It's Me, Robin Lee! 🙏🎀

I've been working on some things behind the scenes as you can see. I'm super excited to start sharing all of the fun experiences and things that I've been learning with you!

With all of my continuing education classes and new skills that I now have the ability to offer, I thought a nice rebranding with a soft launch would be nice.

It's been awhile since I've interacted with my Poetic Light family, so a reintroduction seemed in store.

Welcome to the new phase of POETIC LIGHT STUDIO!

October 2020, yesterday I completed my aerial teacher training, continuing education class so that I can start teaching aerial yoga. This experience has been such a treat being able to be taught by the first person to ever teach me aerial yoga, @lovewithpurpose Someone who I look to for peace & guidance.

When I was a little girl growing up in Flint, Mi. my mom would take me to the circus every year when it came into town. My favorite act was the Trapeze Act. I would watch them swing from one end of the arena to the other, doing tricks so beautifully & gracefully. I fantasized that one day I would grow up to do that, too.

Every year on my birthday, when it was time to make a wish and blow out my birthday candles, I always wished I could fly. Every time I had a chance to make a wish as a child, I wished that I could fly.

One of my favorite childhood memories is my grandma putting me down for an afternoon nap in her hammock out by her garden. I remember waking up from my naps under the shade trees and seeing my grandmother tending to her garden and a monarch butterfly flying above my head.

I've always taken a hot bath at least once a week for my mental health. Besides the warm water holding me tight, I love to feel weightless or suspended.

Sometimes, we search our whole lives for our purpose & our passions, when all we have to do is stop looking externally and start looking within.

This year is I started looking within who I am as a human, but even more so who I was as a child. That introspective has transformed me back into Robin, who I was, am, and always will be.

I remember the first time that I took an aerial class, and I thought to myself, "This is what I'm meant to do."

I am proud of myself for my accomplishments & growth this year. 2020 has been a shit show like no other year in my past. I think we can all agree it's changed us in many ways. I hope that we've all realized how short & precious life is, and not to take anything for granted. Now is the time to go for it & assume your position. I was created to be a teacher. All of my hardest challenges in life have led me to my biggest dreams. Embrace your storms. Your rainbow awaits. 🌈 #fly by @poeticlightstudio

I'm so happy:) I'm home cleaning after a long work weekend and decorating for Halloween. Halloween is my favorite holiday! Fall is my favorite season. Everything about it, the weather, the colors, the smells, the food, etc. 🍂

This past weekend was my last weekend working at the job I've been at for the past year and a half. I was feeling very stagnant and needed a change. Yesterday I started my new job, and though it was a lateral move, I feel really good about it. I think there's a lot of potential and room for growth.

Today, I've already gotten my hot yoga in, a little sauna time, relaxed with friends on the hydro chairs.

It's all about your day to day inputs and outputs that really affect your inlets and outlets. Lol

We've got balance by noon with

Getting up, showered, and dressed for the day. Up and out of the house, gets us up and out of our heads.

Having a plan and personal goals to achieve throughout the day.

Things to look forward to.

Cultivating community.

Feeling loved and giving love.

Implemented physical activity.

Mental health acknowledgment.

Now, I am working on my outer environment to create a space of happiness and contentment for myself on my Tuesday afternoon.

Yoga is a lifestyle. Life takes practice.

God always leads me back to the water and my yoga practice.

Continueation of my last post.

So I get to yoga today, and as I walk through the door, I am greeted with so many beautiful smiles and happy salutations by all different people. Not only peers from that class, or the gym, but immediately I saw a girlfriend from 15 yrs ago when I owned nutrition stores, and I had just had my first baby. Then I saw my first student when I became a yoga teacher four years ago (he was with me through thick & thin when I was teaching 6 yoga classes a week). Next, my new friend that I just met this year who is so cool walked in. We're hanging out tomorrow. Another great friend gave up his spot for me because he knew that was my favorite spot. 🥰 Amongst so many other random connections today in those two hours that I was in the gym. It felt like a tap on the shoulder from God, telling me that I am constantly connected to source.
He reminded me that energy flows where attention goes.
I go to yoga or the gym every day for myself. For my physical and mental health. It's what I know will nourish my body, mind, and soul.

We already have everything we need inside of us. 💙🙏 We are always Divinely Guided and Protected.

God always leads me back to the water and my yoga practice.

Learning to know myself, how I relate to the universe, and how God uses all of that to communicate with my higher self.

I've never been a person who fits in a clique. I've always had one or two friends out of each clique that I vibed with. I've accepted being a lone Wolf. I've always had one best friend at a time. I realize now that a lot of those relationships were trauma bonds that ignited quickly with passion and burned out just as fast with a lack of enthusiasm.

In a moment of truth and rawness, I was thinking to myself as I drove to my hot yoga class today, "Will I ever find my tribe?" (You know one that you don't have to pay to join).

I'm a Libra Sun and Moon, but a Pisces rising. Your rising sign is how you're presenting yourself to the world. I have always resonated so much with being a Libra that I knew nothing about Pisces. Because it's my rising sign, I've been learning and channeling my inner Pisces Goddess. If I have a purpose in life that God wants me to show up for, and my rising sign is how I show up, but I think I'm showing up as the Libra that I know I am, then I need to understand how this is effecting every relationship in my life, money, romance, friendships, family, etc. But most importantly to myself and my soul's mission.

ebb and flow
phrase of ebb
a recurrent or rhythmical pattern of coming and going or decline and regrowth.
"the ebb and flow of state politics and power"

“Heal yourself with the light of the sun and the rays of the moon. With the sound of the river and the waterfall. With the swaying of the sea and the fluttering of birds. Heal yourself with mint, neem, and eucalyptus. Sweeten with lavender, rosemary, and chamomile. Hug yourself with the cocoa bean and a hint of cinnamon. Put love in tea instead of sugar and drink it looking at the stars. Heal yourself with the kisses that the wind gives you and the hugs of the rain. Stand strong with your bare feet on the ground and with everything that comes from it. Be smarter every day by listening to your intuition, looking at the world with your forehead. Jump, dance, sing, so that you live happier. Heal yourself, with beautiful love, and always remember...you are the medicine.”

Whenever I feel sad or disconnected, I come to the water. When I feel disempowered, I remind myself that my life is a gift. Not just a gift for myself, but a beautiful gift to share with the world. When you lean into your heart, divine guidance, and remember your purpose, you forgive the pursuit.
