Bob Marley reminded us to emancipate ourselves from mental slavery, and reclaiming our hair is part of that freedom.
Whether it’s an afro, braids, twists, cornrows, or locs, Black hair tells a story of strength, resilience, and beauty. Our hair holds energy, power, and history.
We must never let anyone speak down on our crown, but the movement starts at home: speaking positively of our hair, our culture, and ourselves first. 👑✨

Inspired by the song “Dance Me to the End of Love” by The Civil Wars, this short yet meaningful poem was published in the Spring 2025 Issue of The Sterling Notes at Howard University. I love this poem, and I hope you guys love it too! @thecivilwars @sterlingnoteshu #poetry #love #fyp #writing #howarduniversity by @poetrybyfi

A poem of grief, sorrow, and most importantly, love. Though years have passed, the loss still hurts, and the love grows stronger. My favourite poem is dedicated to you. I love you, Grandpa! I will see you on the other side🕊❤️. #grief #poetry #love #family #poetryfromtheheart #fyp #writer #emotions #poem by @poetrybyfi
