*POLICE INVESTIGATE DEATH OF 19-YEAR-OLD FEMALE AT DEVIL'S BRIDGE*

St. John's, Antigua and Barbuda, June 21, 2026

The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 19-year-old female whose body was recovered from the waters at Devil's Bridge on Sunday, June 21.

Preliminary reports indicate that the young woman allegedly jumped from Devil's Bridge into the sea sometime late Saturday night. Following the report, police officers, along with members of the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force Coast Guard, responded and conducted an extensive search operation on both land and sea.

However, due to challenging conditions and other operational factors at the time, the search was temporarily suspended overnight. The operation resumed early Sunday morning, and the Coast Guard subsequently recovered the body from the water and transported it ashore.

Police investigators remain on the scene conducting further inquiries into the incident.

The Police Administration extends sincere condolences to the family, relatives, and friends of the deceased during this difficult time and asks that their privacy be respected as investigations continue. by @pointefm99.1

*Jermaine Nicholas Charged With Murder*

St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, Friday, March 27, 2026

The police have formally arrested and charged 24-year-old Jermaine Nicholas of Ovals, All Saints in connection with the murder of 29-year-old Jahmarie Pierre of Mc Pond, All Saints.
The offence occurred on Wednesday, March 25, in the vicinity of the All Saints traffic lights.

It is alleged that shortly after 5:00 p.m., the deceased was involved in an altercation with another male during which he sustained a stab wound. He was subsequently transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where he was later pronounced dead.
The accused was arrested and taken into police custody shortly after the incident and has since been formally charged.

Nicholas is expected to make his first appearance before the court sometime next week.

Meanwhile, the Police Administration wishes to thank the general public for their continued support and assistance in this and other matters. The police also take this opportunity to appeal to young adults to refrain from violent conduct and to resolve differences in a peaceful and lawful manner.
