🦇 **GOTHAM TOOK OVER GHOUL FEST!** 🎃

A massive thank you to **Ghoul Fest** for having us along as guests and allowing us to spend the day bringing some of your favourite DC characters to life!

To all the amazing families, little superheroes, villains and everyone who stopped for a chat, a photo or a bit of fun — thank you! You made our day so special. ❤️

And a huge shoutout to all the incredible vendors and everyone behind the scenes who made the event possible.

From opening to closing, we had an absolute blast. It was one heck of a Gotham day, and we couldn't have asked for a better Halloween!

Happy Halloween, everyone! 🦇

“Welcome to the Amazing Digital Circus! Where everything is fun, forever!”

Stepping straight out of the chaos and colour of The Amazing Digital Circus, @poisonpeachcosplay brought her character to life at @evolveperth.

Throughout Evolve Pop Culture Expo, Gwen served as Evolve’s Cosplay Coordinator, overseeing the cosplay program including the cosplay room, cosplay parade, competition and participant coordination, helping make the cosplay experience one of the highlights of the event.

Captured by Perth cosplay photographer @everybody_loves_collin, this portrait is all about character, costume and personality. From detailed cosplay photography to polished portraiture, I love creating images that make cosplayers feel like they have stepped straight into their own world.

Your cosplay deserves more than a quick snapshot. Immortalize yourself with a professional cosplay photoshoot by @everybody_loves_collin and create an image you will want to keep, share and remember for years to come.

I just started the Yapping Challenge, inspired by Jessie Jean’s challenge — mostly because I want to get more comfortable getting on camera and sharing my experiences, my stories and the things I’ve learned along the way… unapologetically.

And rather than trying to niche myself down into one neat little box, I’ve decided my niche is just… me.

All the weird, wonderful, messy parts of my life that make me who I am.

My journey. My lived experience. The hard-earned lessons I’ve picked up along the way. The good and the bad. The helpful and the hurtful. The triumphs and the tears.

And probably a fair amount of completely unnecessary yapping in between. 🤣

Now, I am NOT tech savvy.
I am not a social media guru.
I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing or what works.

BUT… I know enough to muddle my way through some simple editing programs and hopefully make my yapping slightly more appealing to listen to.

So, follow along.

Learn with me while I work out what works, what doesn’t, what I actually enjoy making and how to keep this whole thing as simple as humanly possible.

Because frankly…

I am too old for this shit. 🤣

But apparently, I’m doing it anyway.

ADHD + cosplay: sometimes the final boss is… a button. 😂

People see the finished cosplay, the photos, the makeup, the props and the ✨character moment✨.
What they don’t always see is the other side of cosplay with ADHD and sensory overwhelm.

At a medieval festival, I was already running on way too much sensory input — crowds, noise, heat, costume layers, being touched, constantly processing everything around me… and then I had a tiny cosplay malfunction.
A BUTTON.

That stupid little button was apparently the last thread holding my nervous system together. 😂

Cue me having a panic attack in a portaloo because my brain had officially gone:

NOPE. WE HAVE EXCEEDED MAXIMUM CAPACITY.

And that's the thing about ADHD overstimulation and overwhelm. The thing that finally tips you over can look ridiculously small from the outside.

It wasn't really the button.

It was the noise + crowds + touch + heat + costume discomfort + problem solving + masking + trying to keep functioning…

The button was just the final boss.

Cosplay is something I absolutely love, but loving something doesn't magically switch off ADHD, sensory overload or overwhelm.

So here's the side of cosplay you don't always see between the polished photos:
Sometimes I'm an epic fantasy creature.
Sometimes I'm crying in a portaloo because of a button.

✨ The duality of cosplay. ✨

Dave is going to be heading to @evolveperth ...whether he wanted to or not! 🎭

Happening on the 12th and 13th of September at the Cannington Showground, you can expect a day filled with arts, cosplayers, activities and fun. The Nostalgia Box will be running our Pokerama Workshop and having a FREE retro games area for you to come and play at.

Please come and have fun! Otherwise I might get another visit from the Cosplay Mafia! 😬 by @poisonpeachcosplay

☢️ POV: you take your Fallout ghoul to @pixelexpoperth …

A little wasteland wandering, a Fallout shoot, questionable decisions with a sloth strapped to me, and a whole lot of convention chaos. 😂☢️

One of my favourite parts of the day was getting to chat with the ridiculously talented @henchandscrap about all things Owlbear, prop making and silicone — I could have happily nerded out about creature making for HOURS.

But honestly, the best part of cons is always the people. Getting to catch up, create ridiculous things, take photos and hang out with this wonderfully weird community. 🖤
