Finally! A way to remove most pen, pencil, ink, marker, paint, crayon, pastel (lol I mean it could happen 🤷‍♂️) from your Pokemon Cards. Please be warned it is not guaranteed to removal all pen inks but most I’ve tested seem to come right off and a few were slightly visible after cleaning. 🧪 🥼 ~Giovanni

Different trimming methods can leave very different traces behind.
On this test card, the X-Acto trim was much easier to see, while the side worked with a very fine file was far less obvious and may require closer edge inspection.

A CT scan can reveal hidden flaws inside a 3D print, including voids, misplaced holes, skew, and other defects you can’t easily see from the outside.
The idea here is to scan standardized calibration prints, compare the results, and eventually build enough data to help improve 3D printer calibration.

Too much pressure during pressing can do more than flatten a card... It can compress the paper fibers inside it.
On this CT scan, darker pressure marks appear in several areas, and the card developed a more aggressive curve after being pressed too hard.

Even a small trim can leave behind evidence when you know what to look for.
On this Krabby, the CT scan showed a density difference in the exact area that had been trimmed, potentially revealing where the knife wasn’t held perfectly perpendicular to the card.

Surface stains can sometimes be cleaned, but once whatever caused the damage has soaked into the interior of the card, restoration gets much harder. Soaking may help pull some of it out, but that process can also damage the card itself, especially when the staining has penetrated deep into the layers.

There’s a long-running conspiracy theory connecting Pokémon GO, location tracking, and government surveillance... But the guys make clear here that they’re talking about rumors, not established fact.
Still, an app that had millions of people voluntarily walking around with GPS-enabled phones makes for an interesting rabbit hole to discuss. 👀
