This post is going to be somewhat self-indulgent and a little rambly. Last night I spent the 4th of July, America's 250th birthday, watching fireworks with my partners south of the Detroit River. I was full of emotions I can't fully describe. A sad, nostalgic longing mixed with fear, anger, and a touch of satisfaction. I'm now a permanent resident of Canada, and I'm extremely proud and happy to be here. I have little to no pride in being American and spent many a 4th of July during my adult years volunteering to work to get holiday pay. Still, I look over the river thinking about that land I came from and will forever be connected to. The place where so many of my loved ones feel stuck and afraid. I know that those fireworks are supposed to be a symbol for fighting for something better. There is still hope in my heart, even if I feel like I am stepping away. This summer overall has felt extremely transitional for me. University graduate, Canadian resident, moved out, married, and the most confident in my identity and presentation than I have ever been. I'm in a state of looking back and looking forward. To what I've gone through and to better things for myself and others. Last night on the river felt like an amazing representation of that idea. I celebrated with hostess cakes, a slurpy, and a hand-rolled joint. I took so many pictures this week that I needed to split them up into two posts! Here is my collection of pictures from Night at the Aqueerium at Ripley's in Toronto. It was a wonderful night! Awesome to be able to enjoy the creatures with a better soundtrack and no children around. We also got the opportunity to witness a live birth of a cownose ray!

After a year of paperwork I'm officially a Canadian resident! 🇨🇦 Here's a celebratory photo dump. Mostly from the holidays. I had the privilege and the pleasure to DM an amazing 12-hour finale of a 4-year-long D&D campaign for some of the best roleplayers and friends in the world.
