From the last couple weeks. The first is another attempt at a Steve Huston piece. In graphite. The second is my interpretation of an anatomy shading from the 1500s. The third is a Charles Bargue plate. The dragon I drew like 4 or 5 months ago I never posted on instagram. I’m starting school this week so I wanted to put these out so I can start fresh. #stevehuston #figuredrawing #graphite #pencil #finearts by @polanskymatthew

I’m really proud of how this finished. I started the Bargue plates last February with the simplest ones and I’ve learned a lot from them! In graphite the poet Homer#homer #graphite #finearts #bargueplates #odyssey by @polanskymatthew

I’m currently working out of Oliver Sins “Facial Expressions for Artists” I’m using graphite. Didn’t plan on doing this. I was just gonna draw the eyes and nose but I kept going til I ran out of page to draw on. I really like how my shading is turning out but my proportions are way off. I have a tendency to put the mouth too far below the nose. The proportion and placement of the eyes is off too. I do think I’m making decent progress right now though. #oliversin #finearts #graphite #shading #smallartist by @polanskymatthew
