Just as all the advertising folks left Margate we moved in for the weekend! In a crazy little AirBnB that I’m not tagging because I want to keep coming back here again and again. The child’s room was a crawl space under the stairs made to look like inside a cloud with a disco ball. Love that about Margate. by @polinaharkin

James and I always sneak off for a little couples’ holiday during the family holiday while my parents bravely take on babysitting duties.

This time, we spent two nights in a tiny cabin perched on a rock in a place called Cursed Mountains. In Kosovo. No roads. No phone signal. Basically the opening scene of every horror movie ever.

Spoiler: we survived!

The only other humans we encountered in the whole time there were two European hikers who seemed reassuringly unlikely to murder us.

Cappadocia, it’s been mental - in the best possible sense! Going there I only knew it as “that instagram hot air balloon place”, but it’s clearly so much more than that. It’s not even a “place”, more like hundreds of kilometres of the most unique and alien natural landscape you’ll ever see. Made even more unique by all the people who dug, chiseled, and decorated it over thousands of years. Being so vast, there’s no way to contain it all, put a fence around it. It’s all there, the moment you arrive, all around you, free to roam around and explore. Not one or two photo ops or good angles, the whole place is one. It’s like turning up in Paris and realising every room has the view of the Eiffel Tower. Or going to Pisa and every building is leaning. You get the idea. Oh, and the hot air balloons? They never took off in the three days we had here due to weather. And we didn’t even feel very sad about that. #Cappadocia #Adventure taken in göreme kapadokya by @polinaharkin
