Ahead of International Day for People of African Descent, we recognize and celebrate the history, contributions, cultures, and voices of people of African descent around the world. 🕊️⚖️ This day also calls attention to the continued importance of representation, quality, human rights, and a meaningful participation in our political institutions. 📕🏛️ “No one is born, hating another person because of the color of his skin.” — Nelson Mandela 🌍🗣️ As students of political science, we have a responsibility to understand how history and political institutions shape the experiences of different communities; and how representation and participation can help create a more equitable future. #poliscipals #internationalday #africandescent #uky #bbn taken in University of Kentucky by @poliscipals
