Introducing Pollinate 🌻 We make musicals that inspire people to act for climate and nature. Pollinate advocates for creativity, communication, and artistic expression. We bring climate conversations to the public through accessible and visible shows. Alongside, we motivate the creative workforce and commercial industry to embed responsible practices and help organisations grow artistic tools for change. Climate change is also a challenge of culture and imagination. Musicals reach audiences emotionally and at scale. We dream about new stories that engage millions and pave the way towards a fairer, greener world. Keep up to date with all things Pollinate via the link in our bio 🤍 by @pollinatecreates

Great to spend two days at Windsor Castle alongside a number of other youth-led climate and nature organisations. I find it difficult to use the future as a reason to act or hope, much preferring to focus on what we can create in the present, but looking up and learning from this group of young people has helped me picture possibilities amid turbulence between now and 2036. I'm leaving with a hope to drive forward youth-led movements by engaging more artists and audiences in their existing work. Thanks so much @_amybray_ @theosilberston @sosuk_charity for organising us around this collective theory of change. by @pollinatecreates
Watch Chisara Agor introducing Azalea, the protagonist of her musical, The Garden, at our event in July. The Garden is about a teenage girl, Azalea, who plants an ancient seed on her concrete housing estate, bringing forth a magical garden that sparks community action against gentrification. Chisara is supporting our workshop on 12th November with @youthclimatecollab and @climateliveuk, titled Songwriting For Climate Courage. If you are aged 18-30 and engaged in climate action, you can sign up now via the link in our bio. 🌱🏙️ @chisara_ by @pollinatecreates
Some of the best movements in history have had a soundtrack. This is your chance to start writing one. 🌻 On Thursday 12th November, we are hosting a free songwriting workshop for young people already involved in climate action. Led by experienced songwriters and performers, Chisara Agor and Phoebe Jasper, the afternoon is built around one idea: climate courage. What does it take to keep showing up, speak up and stay hopeful when the challenge feels enormous? And how does that sound as a song? Over an afternoon of facilitated writing, sharing and experimenting, you will explore your own experiences of climate action, turn them into lyrics and melodies, and leave with the beginnings of a song you can call your own. Curiosity and a willingness to try things are all that is required. Young people aged 18 to 30 from London and the South East who are already involved in climate action, whether through a campaign, a collective, a college society or a community project. If you care about the planet and want to find a new way to express it, you belong in this room. Follow the link in our bio to sign up. There's a limited amount of spaces so be quick. This workshop is in collaboration with Youth Climate Collaborative and Climate Live. @thisisnavvy @chisara_ by @pollinatecreates
"People are getting involved nowadays, and especially in the past month, because of the impacts that climate change and people are having." We were delighted to be joined by @wildloiss in our panel discussion with @hotmessmusical in July to talk about her conversation work in Lancashire. Lois is part of a generation of young people working at the intersection of climate, nature and community, also including organisations like @youngwilders_ and @earthminutesuk🌻 Shoot by @helliott.digital Edit by @samcarroll_film by @pollinatecreates

"For me, it's centred around community... coming together every day, sharing stories, sharing food, sharing happiness." How can we imagine the future in the face of human-caused climate chaos? Zahan Bharucha from @youthclimatecollab shares his approach to hope in our conversation with @hotmessmusical last month. Articulating an imagined future is a core feature of musicals. Characters use song to express yearning for something better, then the story picks up how they realise this vision, often collectively. What do you see when you close your eyes and think of a better future? 🌻🌻🌻 Shot @harry.elliott Edit @samcarroll_film by @pollinatecreates

It's been a busy three days! 1. It was refreshing to spend a day at Treo House on Wednesday digging into a new musical with Joly Black, the brilliant artists and a group of sustainability & design professionals. Thanks to Gemma Lannon and all for making this happen 2. I spent Thursday with The King's Trust talking about Green Skills and sharing with a group of 16-30 year olds how to 'steal my job' making musicals of climate action. I love participating in panels with engineers, researchers & sustainability leads. Did you know the green economy is worth over £100bn a year in the UK? 3. Today I jumped on a call with a group of climate & creative leaders taking part in In Place of War's Creative Agents of Climate Change programme. We talked about how to use networks to move ideas into reality, but also how time & confidence to do so is not supported equally with current infrastructure. Next Tuesday is @pollinatecreates's final post-show conversation with Hot Mess. We'll be exploring how to build a more equal and habitable UK with real stories of action from @ariasaleja, Tom Pakenham, @chisara_ and @wildloiss. 📸 Photos from last week's Climate X Musical Theatre, a half-day workshop delivered with @pollinatecreates. We gathered with an exciting group of music and theatre artists from global majority and migrant backgrounds to discuss musical theatre about climate change and migration. A HUGE thanks to Chris Sudworth and @hackneyempire for hosting us! 🎉 Here's to more musical theatre that tackles climate change, and fewer heat waves 🔥 by @pollinatecreates
