FInished my in-process CMYK yesterday and I *love* how the chrome of the original picture looks in the four-color print! The black layer was compelling on its own so I made a quick black layer only edition on some fun colors of my @frenchpaperco stash. I'm really happy with how this all turned out! Also when I was cleaning the screen the remnants of the ink looked cool so I took a picture :)

Life's been...lifing...but this happened and I am SO excited and proud to have a piece selected for inclusion in the St. Louis Artist's Guild Member's Exhibition! It's one of my cyanotypes, and it was definitely an experiment that I am happy with!

I'm unexpectedly down with Covid, which really, really stinks as I'd planned to use the next couple of days for some cyanotyping. I feel grey and icky so I'm posting some really vibrant monoprints I made this summer. They are based on the prickly pear flowers that one of my kiddos fell in love with last summer on a road trip out west, and they make me smile.

Another process I played with over the summer was layering colors in a screenprinted image. The final print is based on an original photograph I took, and I played around with the elements in the picture to add fun, whimsical colors. The four layers I printed were the three primary colors and a final, nearly transparent green layer to echo the verdigris patina of the original door. If you look carefully you'll see that I also added a lizard eye in the small yellow circle. 🦎

Here's first and second print of another one of my watercolor monoprint series from my summer of printmaking. My oldest kiddo called my summer of printmaking my "intensive art summer camp" and I think I had as much fun as if it had been a summer camp!

This summer I did a series of watercolor monoprints on a silkscreen setup. I pulled several prints in the series from the same initial image and I love the difference between the first and third one of this series.
