Third up on THIS FRIDAY'S lineup, we have @polyopuk Polyop are a live, acid-rave, audio-visual band built around the music of Jack Driscoll, with a rotating cast of musicians usually performing as a trio of drum machines, synths and generative visuals. Continuing in the dubby, euphoric lineage of acts such as Orbital, Eat Static and Leftfield, Polyop's hardware-led sets span everything from acid house through trance to jungle, with a large dose of alien 303’s throughout. Polyop have created an audio-visual universe shaped by euphoric synths, hand-crafted breakbeats and the trippy polygonal graphics of low-resolution N64 games. Above the stage, geometric figures move through alien landscapes in sync with the music. The visuals created by Alex Kempton, run on Hedron, the open-source software developed by the group for their shows. Generating its polyhedral, late-90s aesthetic in real time, Hedron creates a distinctive atmosphere that takes the audience from video-game nostalgia into a hallucinogenic experience This is definitely one that is not to be missed, and it's free, so grab a free ticket for Friday whilst you can!!! FRACAS returns Friday 18th September! 🚨 We've put together a special one this month, it's an amalgamation of vibes & talent, topped off with a headline slot from *THE* Fracas icon. But we will get to that... Kicking things off, we’ve got contemporary orchestral quartet @camberwellgroup , easing us into the evening before post-rock/shoegaze four-piece @thedeadwells make the journey down from Macclesfield to flip the whole thing on its head. Next up, acid-rave audiovisual group @polyopuk bring their projections, hardware samplers and synths down to the basement for a full audiovisual dancefloor takeover. And finally, we are so gassed to have @stdrums returning to FRACAS. All the way from Japan, he’ll be playing his first show of a very, very limited run of European dates, this time with a brand new setup. If you know, you know with him, a staple in FRACAS lore. Absolutely not to be missed. BUT! We have more… Taking us into the night, we’ve got an all-night DJ set from the gang at @heavenlyjukebox in collaboration with LOOCALISM.
