Jack had an incredible time @countrymusichof songwriting camp. He made some new lifelong friends and wrote the song, “Regret for a Cigarette”-written to encourage people to stop smoking or to never try it. The mentors and staff did a fantastic job of bringing these young writers together in a supportive environment. Thanks @newhousecf for the camp recommendation! by @pomeroy.sara1

This morning, I lost my dad.

There aren’t enough words for how absolutely precious he was — to me, to my son, and to everyone who knew him. He was steady and kind, funny in the best and most unexpected ways, and always the first to lend a hand. He taught me how to work hard, love your people deeply, and find beauty in simple things.

Watching him with my son was one of the greatest joys of my life. Their bond — the laughter, curiosity, and stories they shared — will stay with us forever.

There’s a deep ache in my heart today, but also an overwhelming sense of gratitude. To have been his daughter. To have learned from him. To have been surrounded in these last days by so much love and care.

To all who have shown up for us — in person and in spirit — thank you. Your love has been a quiet strength, a reflection of the life my dad lived and the warmth he gave so freely. We feel him in every act of kindness.

Love you forever, Dad. by @pomeroy.sara1

I’ve been spending a lot of time lately from a window seat — watching the world outside while visiting with family. Through the sadness and the sleepless nights, I’ve found there’s still so much beauty to see from that seat.

These days have been filled with stories — neighbors, old friends, and even people I’ve just met stopping by to share memories of my dad. Some stories make us laugh, others bring quiet tears, but all of them paint such a vivid picture of the man he’s been to so many.

He’s still with us, though slowing down, and somehow continues to do what he’s always done best: bring people together. This small community has shown so much kindness — the meals dropped off, the visits, the messages, the hugs. Every gesture feels like a reflection of the goodness he’s sown over a lifetime. by @pomeroy.sara1
