Really proud of this group and the total team effort. We overcame the slow start, locked in on defense, and went on a 50-5 from 4:30 left in the 2nd quarter to halfway through the 4th. Almost went two quarters of play giving up only 2 baskets 🤯

YMLA is a solid 20-win team led by 500+ career wins head coach and our guys rose to the challenge and executed at a high level and played their tails off.

Round 2, here we come.

Just want to brag on our groups for a minute!

Summer and fall are about putting in the work, challenging ourselves, and preparing for the season. So far this fall, our players have completed 23 Breakfast Club skill sessions, 25 lifts, 8 timed mile runs, 5 open gyms, and 8 weeks of book club, with 90% participation across our offseason events!

On the court, varsity finished 13-6 across two leagues and four weekend events, while JV went 4-6 in a league and two weekend events. The majority of our competition came against 5A and 6A schools.

As we make the jump to Class 4A, we’ve intentionally challenged ourselves against bigger schools and tougher competition. Proud of the work these guys have put in and excited to see it carry over into the season!

Full weekend for Ponder Basketball!

We made the trip to Round Rock for the i35 Showcase, but not before stopping in Waco to support our football team and watch them take down Connally! 🦁🏈

On the court, we got the opportunity to compete against two really solid 6A programs and finished the day 1-1. We saw a lot of positives, along with plenty of areas where we can continue to grow and improve.

The season is right around the corner, and these guys have been working their tails off to prepare. Proud of the effort and excited to keep building. Go Lions! 🦁 🏀 by @ponderbball

Ponder Basketball showed its grit at the Team Arete event in Farmers Branch, putting together a team mix featuring physical play, confident shot-making and guys willing to compete every possession.

The Lions embraced the opportunity to go against quality DFW competition and showed a group that isn’t afraid to play through contact, make the extra play and battle on both ends. Ponder continues to put valuable work in now with its sights set on being ready when the season tips off.

Ponder Basketball brought its own flavor to the Team Arete event in Farmers Branch, competing with toughness, discipline and confidence throughout the weekend.

The Lions used the event as another chance to measure themselves against quality DFW competition, continue building chemistry and get valuable reps before the season arrives. A lot of work is being put in now, and Ponder continues to lay the foundation for what it wants to become this year.

Another opportunity earned for Blake Durham!

Blake has received an offer from Sterling College. His ability to run a team, make shots, and impact winning continues to stand out to college programs. He’s put together a strong body of work and continues to see that translate into opportunities at the next level.

We had an outstanding week of @ponderbball offseason this past week! We had 9 players break the 6:00-minute mile, our guys continued to put in great work in the weight room and on the court, and our first Book Club on Friday was a huge success. The discussion was thoughtful, engaging, and we are looking forward to going through the book together. Ready for another great week. by @ponderbball
