Pongo’s Pizza: A Sunday Pongo Comic 🍕

Pongo and I were on vacation this past week, so I’ve used one of my comics from last year with a fresh, new title card. I hope you will enjoy this comic strip as much as Pongo enjoyed his slice of pizza!
Lots of love! ♥️🇮🇹

Now that fall is in the air, Pongo prepares for hibernation a little differently than other bears. 🐻
After all, winter is his time to catch up on all his comic volumes! With plenty of instant food to sustain his reading marathons!

A sketch for Saturday! I want to improve on my color sensibilities and restrain my palette more. The atmosphere of the painting is not where I quite want to be, but maybe it’s a step in the right direction. Thanks for watching!

“Pongo & the Pitch Perfect Chickadee”
Sunday Pongo Comic, ep. 2

I’ve been thinking a lot about birds lately. I’ll hear their beautiful whistling song, and sometimes I’ll try to whistle back. It made me wonder about what they think of our singing. Would they be bothered by an especially dismal singing voice? Enter Pongo the Bear, who loves nothing more than to sing in the bath, no matter how out of tune. In my mind chickadees would be sticklers for so many flat notes.
Hope you enjoyed this comic! Follow Pongo for more stories and illustrations. Check back next Sunday for another cozy comic! ☺️💕

Sunday Comics were the highlight of my weekend as a kid. My dad would fetch his freshly delivered Chicago Tribune, and while he read, I would slip the comics page from the middle of the newspaper. It felt like such a special treat to have my favorite strips in full color. So in honor of that Sunday comic spirit I’m going to put a short Pongo comic out every Sunday. And while Pongo is not a traditional comic strip, I hope it will pluck at the heart strings of those who also grew up looking forward to the Sunday comics. Now if only I could waft the smell of newsprint through a screen…that would really bring it all home. 📰🩷

Pongo also wants to share more slices of his life with you. So I hope you’ll follow along or share with a friend. 🩷 Thank you for reading, and I hope you’ll enjoy!

It’s getting hot again, and an elote is one of Pongo’s favorite summertime snack! 😋 The corn was so much fun to illustrate. Let me know what your favorite snack is and I can illustrate it next! ☺️🫶🩷

Stay cool out there, Pongo loves you! 🐻🩷
