The German translation of Mexican Jorge Zepeda Patterson’s MUERTE CONTRARRELOJ is about to be launched in paperback with @unionsverlag 🚲🚲

Marc Moreau, a professional cyclist with a military past, is part of a top Tour de France team led by his best friend, an American star favored to win this year’s Tour. But the competition takes a dark turn when racers begin to drop out in a series of violent accidents: a mugging that ends in an ankle being crushed, a nasty bout of food poisoning, and two spectators caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. The teams and their entourages retreat into paranoid lockdown even as they must continue racing each day. The mountain inclines grow steeper and the accidents turn deadlier: a suspicious suicide, an exploded trailer, a loose wheel at the edge of a cliff. Marc agrees to help the French police with their investigations from the inside and becomes convinced that the culprit is a cyclist who wants to win at any cost. But as the victim count rises, the number of potential murderers—and potential champions—dwindles... 🚲🚲

The new novel by Martí Gironell is out (both in Catalan with @columnaedicions and Spanish with @eddestino ) and already among the Top 3 in Catalan in every bestsellers’ list! 🌸🌿 Feared by some and sought out by many others, Malaveïna knows the secrets that nature keeps hidden. Her hands heal with herbs, flowersy, and roots; her knowledge inspires admiration, but also suspicion, in a society that often mistakes wisdom for witchcraft.

As the counts of Peralada, a town in the Empordà region of Catalonia, dream of turning the castle and its gardens into a cultural landmark for the country, a story of impossible love, family silences, grudges, and shattered destinies becomes intertwined with the life of this remarkable woman and of those who come after her. For some secrets can remain hidden for years, yet they never disappear completely.

News from South Africa! ☀️ THE TALETELLER, the new novel by acclaimed and multiawarded author Masande Ntshanga, will be published by Fourie Botha at Painted Dog Press in 2027. ☀️
Set in South Africa’s Eastern Cape during the early 19th century, at the height of the Mfecane wars and Britain’s colonial incursion into the lands of amaXhosa, THE TALETELLER follows Kholo, a young cowherd and gifted taleteller who discovers a pale-skinned stranger outside Mvuleni, a Xhosa village still beyond colonial contact. A refugee and survivor of the wars, Kholo gets by alongside his father from one day to the next – and it is into this precarious existence that he delivers “the apparition,” the stranger whose disruption will alter not only the course of Kholo’s life, but that of the village and all he knows.

Part historical novel, part war epic, part metaphysical mystery and part Künstlerroman, THE TALETELLER stages a radical inversion of the colonial captivity narrative. Rendered as a speculative ancestral record, it is told by its Mfengu narrator – the name bestowed by amaXhosa on the refugees of the Mfecane – as he grapples with home, exile, love, resistance, art, and what it takes to come to terms with one’s humanity amid the unprecedented violence and loss of a changing world.

All rights outside South Africa are available. ☀️

Iván Sánchez Zapardiel, a Spanish actor, model, producer and writer whose career has taken him from the international fashion world to film, television and theatre across Europe and Latin America, will publish his new novel DESARRAIGO (that could be translated as THE UPROOTED) with Almuzara in March 2027. 📚

Flora is born in the green, rugged mountains of Serra do Courel, in inland Galicia, Spain, under Franco’s dictatorship. Hassan, a ten-year-old boy, lives with his “abba” on the peaceful shores of the Sea of Galilee, in Palestine under the British Mandate, in the aftermath of the Second World War and at the dawn of the creation of the State of Israel.

THE UPROOTED is the life journey of two souls shaped by their origins and their families; two children forced to persevere in their search for a hopeful future, far from the difficult circumstances into which they were born. It is also a journey into a Palestine in turmoil during the first Nakba in 1948, an ever-present pharaonic Egypt, and a world of archaeology and the search for lost roots—a way of escaping a present that can be brutally harsh and, at times, profoundly dehumanizing. And then there is Paris, a city of seemingly limitless possibilities, where choices are rarely as easy as they first appear.

Stay tuned! 📚
¡Seguiremos informando! 📚
