POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

a little reintroduction for all the new faces on here (hello, welcome)

i’m noelle, the one-person zine machine behind poofydustcloud. i’m a printmaker and illustrator based in New Orleans, Louisiana. i grew up around the Great Lakes, and so far i’ve always lived at the junction of railroad tracks + a river + a lake. since childhood, my life has been punctuated with long stints on the road, kind of a “chicken or egg” situation with my love of industrial infrastructure and road signs.

i’ve been working as an art handler since 2015 (the same year i made my first zine), and have run poofydustcloud The BrandTM since 2020. i teach zine-making, screen printing, and visual art professional practices to small groups here and there (DM me if you’re interested in this!) i share a bit of everything on this page (tees, stickers, screen prints, etc) but my One True Love is self-publishing. i love making zines. i love the intimate experience of reading, i love the object-ness of a book, i love figuring out how best to communicate an idea thru the combination of material experience + text/image + time.

notably, i’ve been disabled since i was a small child. the limitations and awareness of this strongly shape who i am and the work i do. i often share info about disease prevention + medical accessibility on here too. i try to stay in my lane of expertise/life experience and that’s a huge part of it !

thanks for reading, thanks for being here, and as always you can find all my available work linked on my page.

🚨 new riso zine 🚨 A DIY Guide to FRAMING YOUR ART! based on my decade+ of experience as an art handler and full time artist, this zine gets into why framing matters, components of a frame, framing trends, do’s and don’t’s, and suggestions for professional presentation at any budget.

12 pages, written and drawn by me, expertly risograph printed in fluorescent orange by @empresseditions (the ink GLOWS in person, impossible to capture on camera)

huge thanks to @internationalmountmakersforum for writing a blurb for this series, truly an honor! by @poofydustcloud

new zine drop ⚠️⚠️⚠️ risograph printed in delicious sunflower ink on pastel yellow paper by @empresseditions. originally conceived as chapter 1 of my art handling for artists book, this zine covers the more practical material considerations artists should be aware of when making work. it gets into common materials and how they age, how to communicate about niche/delicate materials, and thoughtful sizing when making work for shows + selling.

now online in physical zine and PDF versions! zine ships anywhere in the US, PDF available worldwide ⚡️ by @poofydustcloud

never really sure where these little overpass/underpass guys belong or how to sell them but i like em :) there’s not enough zines highlighting the ubiquitous piss bottle on the side of the road.

originally commissioned as page embellishments for a magazine, but pretty fun as little accordion-folded print/books imho. get one or both of them in the linkies. by @poofydustcloud

the full guts of “36 hours at energy mart” (second edition) debuting IRL this weekend @waterlooarts fest. once again, big thanks to @mergoat.mag for commissioning the full comic for the magazine in 2025. closer detail images on my previous post, and the full thing online, linked where you’d expect it.

3.25” x 8.5”, toner + inkjet print, spiral-bound, 20 pages, limited edition of 57 taken in Black Mountain, North Carolina by @poofydustcloud

a second edition has hit the shelves ⚠️ last year i drew a mini comic for @mergoat.mag about my experience being stranded in western north carolina during hurricane helene, and released a version of it that never felt quite finished. now it does 📒 spiral bound in glowing yellow, the same color as all the hazard lights on the utility company trucks, combo of inkjet and toner printing. these are some of my favorite pages. it’s posted up on my site too.

any interest in seeing the full comic on here? let me know, i could be convinced to share it 🥲 i’m really proud of it especially now in what feels like its final form (unless i find the time to significantly expand on it… idk jk… unless…) by @poofydustcloud

a small zine offering for this tough season between big storm anniversaries - Katrina (affecting my friends and the city i call home) and Helene (the one i personally experienced)

a little single-page jammer to help you get the basics of a go bag/emergency kit ready before you need it. i’m certain it’s missing a few things, so there’s some room to write in your own additional items.

you can find a free printable version linked on my page, i also have the finished zine for purchase (at the price of materials/shipping) up there too. feel free to print, copy, and share widely. by @poofydustcloud
