Olympic meats 7/10🇬🇷🏛️ This was a delish mid week meal for three of us - however was the queue worth it (probably not). The feta dip to start was the best thing we had for sure! The mixed meats were good but not great, slightly overrated and overpriced. The pickled octopus was super fresh and flavourful, the bread and spanakopitas were also fab starters would recommend. Chips were delish no notes. The desert was super interesting and unlike anything we’ve had before so was good to try something new. Probs wouldn’t be back unless there was no queue… yum but been overhyped on social media! by @pookiesmunching

10 William St 8.5/10💐🥨 The most perfect late lunch for Valentine’s Day at a Paddington institution. The service was incred - we had a 2 hour seating and were not rushed at all! We started with the pretzel and whipped bottarga (obvs) and it was amaze as usual, definitely an aquired taste though. We had the tuna which was super fresh but a little skimped on the garnishes, the beef tartare was something different from usual being covered in cheese but was such good flavour. For mains we had the beef ragu and John Dory which were both so light but flavourful! Saved the best for last and finished with two deserts because we couldn’t decide, had a tiramisu spoon each and the most amazing fig crème brûlée. Grandfathers 8.5/10🧧🥢 The coolest location with some amazing food! Literally everything was so good (including the service). Prawn toast and the all the mains were incred and would order again especially the noodles but the black pepper Wagyu beef and duck fat potatoes were a standout being so different to anything we’ve tried with some of the best crispy potatoes ever!!! The dumplings were good but nothing special. Loved the sichuan tuna sashimi literally drowning in the chilli but not too spicy just super flavourful. Will defs be back to start making our way through the huge menu🥠 by @pookiesmunching

Bert’s 10/10 💚🦐

Ahhhh Bert’s you are our fav
Today we went for the steak frites Thursday lunch deal and it was perfect! $35 for a 280g stockyard gold scotch fillet with classic cafe de Paris butter is a very very good deal

We started with the warm house brioche fingers with fragrant salmon and fennel pollen again which were so delish and flavourful and the salmon literally melts in your mouth

We also had the qld king prawns brown butter, smoked chilli and aioli which were perfectly cooked but the fried dough/ bread dipped into the sauce was the best bit - they tasted like little savoury doughnuts.

Sokyo Omakase 9/10🍣🎏 Not a big caption because too many courses but this was incredible and the photos speak for themselves!!! Our favs were the Toro and wagyu for sure but everything was amazing all round! However, it’s not a private dining room like usual omakase and for the price ($$$) this is quite disappointing. by @pookiesmunching

Fabbrica Newtown 8/10🇮🇹🍷
We went to fabbrica with a special guest @laranash_ and had a lovelyyyy dinner at a local Italian in Newtown. First off, the space is surprisingly big and very warm for Newtown! The starters were super fresh and flavourful with the fabbrica sourdough and cultured butter going perfectly with the burrata. We also had the wagyu tartare with walnuts, smoked tonnato and potato crisps and the scallops with puttanesca butter (these were unreal!) For mains, we shared the mafaldine with blue swimmer crab which was sooo yummy and also devoured the parpadelle with beef cheek ragu. 24 York 7/10🥩🌃

This was our first time trying 24 York, the latest restaurant serving up one item on the menu, steak frites. We both had the O’Connor Grass Fed Scotch Fillet cooked medium (it was either medium or well-done), with Scarlett getting chimichurri (better sauce option) and Jack getting the jus. We both loved the steak - it was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The same goes for the fries cooked to golden brown in beef tallow. The space was also incredible and can only be described as polished but relaxed. However we still think there are better value options out there (we’re looking at you Alfies) but we think 24 York is a must try. The cheesecake was so yum as well don’t skip desert 🍰 by @pookiesmunching

Olympus Dining 8/10 🧿🫒

We celebrated Scarlett’s 21st birthday at Olymus Dining this year and it did not disappoint! Although we heard mixed reviews, we came in with an open mind. There were 5 of us and we shared all plates. The starters were amazing and they were super accomodating for coeliacs. Our favourites were the octopus and saganaki, but do not skip the dolmades - they were divine as well. For mains, we got the large roasted lamb shoulder with tzatziki, which was super tender and tasty. The chicken was delicious but we would not get it again. Do not skip the fries!!! We love the bougatsa and the rizogalo for dessert - they were perfect to finish off the meal. taken in Olympus Dining by @pookiesmunching

Bones ramen Potts point 6.5/10 🍜🍥The steak as a starter was cooked perfffectly with the crispiest little fries on the side. We both got a pork ramen and the noodles to soup to meat ratio was absolutely perfect however was super super salty. Probs won’t be back but was a cute spot for winter date night taken in Bones Ramen by @pookiesmunching

Koko 8/10 🍣🍱 Just a few pics from our omakase at Koko at the Star in Melbourne. Absolutely loved the little plate at the start with all the small bites on it everything was so fresh and complemented each-other well. The tempura was so crunchy and tasty but the cooked fish was a bit bland and slightly tough. Jack said the mushroom was amaze but unfortunately scarlett is not a fan but absolutely loved the wagyu and rice in that dish. Pork and egg was delish as well. Desert was so yum with black sesame ice cream. Loved the vibe in the restaurant as well 🤗 by @pookiesmunching

10 William St 8.5/10 💚🥨Ahhhh 10 William was a lovely spot for a date night with the most gorg fitout - we sat up stairs for an early dinner and it was perfect. We started with the salumi plate with their selection of meats and they were all so fresh and flavourful. The iconic pretzel and whipped bottarga definitely lived up to the hype but wish it was slightly bigger so we could finish all the dip! The crudo was so fresh and had the best fruity flavour - we genuinely could’ve eaten like 10 of these. The scallops were just as fresh as the crudo and the little raspberries and butter made them soooo sweet. The mains kept impressing us with the most flavourful saffron pasta that was cooked to perfection followed by the most tender cutlets. Obviously finished with tiramisu and no notes this was perf. Only downside is small serves but quite expensive for what it was!
Overall would defs recommend for a date night or girls night 🫶🏽 taken in 10 William St by @pookiesmunching
