It was a privilege to design this poster for short film Hifi Ulu by Chantelle Burgoyne and Hayley Felise.

We wanted to capture Luka’s playful spirit as he prepares for his Hifi Ulu (hair cutting) ceremony—a rite of passage in Niuean culture marking his transition into young manhood.

It’s a beautiful work that encapsulates so many powerful themes on cultural expectations, tradition and family, through the youthful lens of 10 year old Luka.

Don’t miss it 💜 by @pookkysstudio

Life becomes less about what you own and how much you make but more about the genuine connections you make with others, showing gratitude for what you already have and taking care of the people you hold closest to your heart. by @pookkysstudio
