POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
As a travel creator, there’s a lot of pressure in this space to make everything look magical, to say every destination is life-changing, to love every experience, to present travel as aspirational 100% of the time.

But when we do that, we create unrealistic expectations, and sometimes we perform authenticity instead of actually being honest.

Travel is incredible. It’s also messy, overhyped sometimes, occasionally underwhelming, and definitely not always Instagram-perfect. And that’s what makes every trip unique!

So I’ll keep sharing the wins, the fails, the hidden gems, and the moments that make travel unforgettable. Because real travel isn’t curated, it’s experienced.

Which slide do you agree with the most? 👀

People just assume you’re jealous. But I unfollowed because the content stopped feeling real. Travel can be beautiful and curated without being completely detached from reality.

Travel creators don’t owe us access, but we don’t owe anyone a follow either.

If you’ve ever unfollowed someone and thought “am I just being dramatic?”, you’re not.

✨If you’re a travel creator reading this, this isn’t a drag, it’s feedback.

Not because they’re “wrong,” but because they quietly made travel more exhausting than it needed to be.

Some of these used to feel normal. Now they feel unnecessary.

Another devastating day for the luxury fashion industry. Thoughts and prayers. 😭

Rose-colored glasses aren’t such a bad thing after all.

There’s already enough in this world constantly reminding us of what’s wrong. I don’t need to go looking for more of it.

Sometimes I want to deliberately pay attention to what’s beautiful. To what’s going right. To the tiny moments I would’ve completely overlooked if I wasn’t paying attention.

Call it naive or delusional, but life really does look a little better when you decide to look for the good in it.

And apparently the rose-colored glasses work exceptionally well in Turks & Caicos. 😂 by @poorlittlenomad

It’s scary how quickly one bad moment can make us forget how good we actually have it.

We notice the rain before we notice where we’re standing. And I don’t think gratitude means pretending the bad parts don’t suck because they certainly do. You can be disappointed, frustrated, sad, all of it. But one bad moment doesn’t have to define the whole day.

I needed that reminder more than I realized.

So maybe this is yours too. 🤎

The airport is part of the trip, so why aren’t we having more fun there?

Anyway, if anyone has several billion dollars and would like to make this happen, I have more ideas.

✨Is there anything else I forgot to add? Drop them in the comments.✨

I swear we have completely lost the ability to hear an opinion we disagree with and just accept. Everything has to become a fight. And we call that progress?

Social movements started because people wanted change. They challenged things we had accepted for too long, gave people a voice, and forced us to have conversations we probably should’ve been having all along.

But slowly, those conversations stopped leaving room for different perspectives. Everything became black or white. Right or wrong. You’re either completely with us or completely against us. And I think that’s where we started losing the plot.

You should be able to support something and still question parts of it. You should be able to change your mind. You should be able to hear another perspective without treating it like a personal attack.

Because if the goal of these movements was to move society forward, I don’t know how we got to a place where nobody can talk to each other anymore. We’re not having conversations anymore, but waiting for our turn to prove the other person wrong. And I don’t know how the hell that’s supposed to get us anywhere. by @poorlittlenomad

I don’t know when being a decent fucking human being became too much to ask, but here we are.

And maybe I’m getting older, but the world genuinely feels different. It feels like we’ve lost this basic understanding that we live around other human beings and should probably act like it.

There used to be certain things you just didn’t do in public. Not because everyone had to be perfect or proper, but because you had some awareness of the people around you. You had manners. You had consideration. You knew there was a time and place for certain things.

Now everything feels like it has to be louder, more sexual, more shocking, more aggressive. Everybody’s fighting. Everybody hates somebody. People are cruel to complete strangers and somehow being disrespectful has become entertainment.

And I’m not asking for everyone to agree, dress the same, think the same, or live the same way. God, no. I just want us to remember how to fucking act around each other.

Basic human decency really shouldn’t feel like a radical concept. by @poorlittlenomad

When did going farther become the thing that makes a trip more impressive?

A passport stamp gets a reaction, but a three-hour drive? Not so much.

And I’m guilty of it too. I love international travel, but I don’t want to get so caught up in going far that I completely ignore what’s close.

Amelia Island was the reminder I needed. No huge budget and no complicated planning. Just a really good weekend in a place I probably should’ve visited a long time ago.

Travel with what you have, not with what social media says you need. 🤎

Every year, September 11 is difficult to look back on.

There is so much pain attached to that day. So many lives lost. So many families changed forever. So many people who gave everything trying to save someone they had never even met.

But one of the things I also remember is how quickly strangers became neighbors.

In moments of unimaginable fear and grief, people helped each other. They carried each other. They opened their doors. They stood in lines to donate blood. First responders ran toward something everyone else was running from.

Twenty-five years later, the world feels incredibly divided sometimes. We spend so much time focusing on what makes us different that I think we forget how quickly those differences can become insignificant when another human being needs us.

September 11 should never have had to happen for us to remember that.

So today, we remember the lives lost, the families who still carry that loss, and the people who gave everything to help someone else.

And maybe, 25 years later, we need to remember how to find that part of ourselves that once knew how to come together.
